On my 90 td5 When I turn left at low speed or stationary there is a irritating whining noise from I suspect the power steering pump?but nothing when I turn it right. Then when on the move a steady left hander creates an er er er er noise and vibration through the steering wheel again nothing...

So the box will bolt straight on? I Need to alter the hi low switch? Any more details on that? Also i think iv got to drill some holes for the handbrake mech? How difficult is swapping the housing and using my original housing and switch? Would I be better just ordering a gear set from...

I think iv wasted my money here, I bought a 1.222 T/box of a 300 disco to fit to my TD5 defender. Its since been brought to my attention that the TD5 has a different output shaft from the gearbox. Can anyone confirm or deny the above?:confused:

on closer inspection it appears to be a tank breather! The non return must be to stop water going back down the pipe as its relativly low on the vehicle

If you cant see/feel any grooves leave em? Would be my thoughts

Iv been doing some bits on the defender today and i noticed in the N/S/R wheel arch a broken breather pipe, With what looks like a nonreturn valve on it. I dissappears off between the fuel tank and the rear cross member, so i couldnt see to trace it back! Does anyone know what its the breathing...

Have you fitted them to a 90? If so what's the ride like? Iv noticed they are handed which is a promising sign! I would be swapping them myself so maybe I'll give them a go. Cheers for the help gents

Yep that's what I'm thinking, hell of a price difference though, £15 or £60...... Why can't someone come up with a reliable spring for £25-£30? So are the all makes ones any different of britpart too? Cheers for the reply mate, but I'm still non the wiser :D

Iv been thinking about replacing the springs on my 03 defender 90 as I noticed it's sitting lower than a newer none raised 90 I parked next to the other day, Everyone knows the britpart yellow h/d springs right? What's the crack with the standard and h/d black ones paddocks sell for about £14...
