Aaarrrggghhh this front track rod keeps spinning. Thats the last thing to go on

Was a right pain. Got everything back together and was about to put the seal retaining ring on at the back of the ball and realised I had put it on the wrong way round :eek:. Just got a few things to reassemble in the morning and then should be done. Then I have the other side to do :thumbdown:

I got it off with them but cant put it back on :mad:

Apart from the obvious way of using circlip pliers how do you get the circlip on the cv joint as my pliers dont open wide enough :confused:

Just ordered a torque wrench so I will just do the bolts up tight until it arrives and then torque them all up

Is it advisable to torque everything or just f'n tight as I dont have a torque wrench.

Yes new bearings. Just watched that video and it says around 4kg. Do I need to torque it up before I do the setting?

Correction. Now ive tightened it up its like 7 with no shims :eek:

Mine is currently around 2.2 with no shims. Is that ok?

Does anybody know what the preload tension (think thats what its called) should be set at?

Well made a start on this today and what a barsteward of a job. Taken 8 hours just to strip it down :eek:. Was hoping to have it finished today. But had to order a new wheel bearing kit too as one of the bearings is bent; This is what I was greeted with when I took the flange off; Plenty...

Ooh err. Is that a guess or do you think thats a possibility? I have no idea if the electrics work, but that sounds viable

Stupid question but how do you know if you have abs? As when I bought mine last week he asked if I had abs and I said I didnt know. But then I asked what the difference in balls was and he reckoned there wasnt? I dont want to strip mine down to realise I have abs but have bought non abs swivels

Got to change one of my swivel balls on thursday :(
