Range Rover P38 Cruise control fault.

See below, The pump gets 12V on the OU wire and ground on the OR wire. There to check whether it is working you would need to connect both terminals to an alternate live and ground. Finally once the pump is runnig, apply a ground to the remaining wire to close the solenoid switch and start...

    iPad and RAVE

Got it working with both Goodreader app and in ibook. you need the latest version of RAVE though as earlier versions (adobe 4.0) have compatibilty issues. A good check is to try opening one of the PDF's using adobe reader 9 on your PC / laptop. if it opens there without issue, then will open on...

    iPad and RAVE

If it will work on the ipad, either through the iBooks or Kindle apps, then should work on any iPhone from 3G upwards.::D

    iPad and RAVE

I know that some of our American cousins had individual pages loaded onto an iPhone 3g. No ability to puruse the menus PC style, but still very useful. Have been looking into the file structure of RAVE to see if the PDF files can be extracted seperately, so far wth no success. Need more time to...

    iPad and RAVE

Anybody tried to get RAVE running on an iPad? Think this would be a very useful way of viewing RAVE when actually working at the vehicle;)

    Faultmate FCR

Hi all, I was recently one of the lucky ones who purchased a Faultmate FCR through the discounted offer on this website. The unit arrived quickly, thanks to Paul, and was duly plugged into my P38 range rover. All seemed to work fine unto the next morning, when the unit declared itself no longer...

    millage correction?????

Mileage is stored in both the BECM and the clocks. The one with the highest mileage recorded takes precedence. Not that easy to tamper with either.

    Liner on sunroof

I to have the sun shade lining problem. I read somewhere that it is possible to remove the shade without taking down the headlining. You 1st need to remove the glass then thieve spring clips. It is almost certain that vat least one of the clips will break, so advisable to have some replacements...

Range Rover P38 Cruise control fault.

Mine has been fixed by a simple clean up job on the EcU internals. Has been working perfectly for a or so week now. If you tests lead you to the same issue, then highly likely it is the ECU. Changing it and or the inverter is easy peasy.

    FCR FAULTMATE £183:08 inc VAT & P.P

My FCR arrived today, many thanks Paul on an awesome job!! Plugged and working a treat. No faults showing except for HEVAC which has 11 (them all?). Cleared them and then scanned again and they are aparently back. However HEVAC works perfectly. Says faults are logged, does this mean from an...

p38 n reg high fuel consumption

Engine ECU temp sensor failure? If the ECU thinks the engine temp is low, will fuel accordingly. What colour are the spark plugs? If black & sooty then definitely over fuelling. This sensor is different than the one supplying the temp gauge.

    recommendations for cd/radio replacement

I took a slightly different approach and instead fitted a Parrot MKI 9200 kit. Now have iPhone, iPod, mp3 player etc compatibility. Works really well with the Harmon Kardon factory fit speakers & amps. A lot simpler than changing out head units. Not that cheap though, as cost around £170.00...

    Cruise control pin 11

I had the same problem and the same result when trying test 3D in RAVE. Turned out to be dirty contacts in the Cruise Control ECU. An auto ranging digital multimeter struggles with this test. As stated above by Datatek, best to use an oscilloscope.

Range Rover P38 Cruise control fault.

Can be found on RAVE under RR 1997 - 1998, electrical trouble shooting, circuit, B5 -Cruise Control, page 13 to page 23. It is important to read the ramble before page 13. I printed 13-23 off and than annotated each page as to how the test leads are connected i.e. On the hardware pin, the...
