    Coolant temperature

Ok, i have placed the order for the remote thermostat and also for all replacement hoses. Came to under £150. will get it done one evening next week. Better be safe than sorry, considering that the new head and gasket has 20 k on the clock now. Maybe this one will last forever now!:D

    freelander noisey rear

I recently had the same problem, and LR traced the source to a worn main bearing in the driveshaft. Not sure what they ment, but it was either the bearing in the VCU or the two support bearings on the driveshaft. Either way its related to the driveshaft

    Petrol to diesel

Hi. I think it is a big job, however i do know of this guy who breaks LR Freebies and he could supply all the parts for a fraction of the cost of a new petrol engine. I was hoping that someone had done this transplant befor and list all the jobs that would need doing, especially in the elctrics!

    Coolant temperature

HI all, Thanks for all your help, Me thinks that i will bring irt back. On another note there is a kit PCH001190 that was developed by LR to speed up the time the engine warms up. It has a thermostate in line with the hoses and you have to block off the old thermostate. Does anyone know if this...

    Coolant temperature

So i take it that it is not normal that the cooling temp is at half way and then goes down to a third. This is an intermittent thing as sometimes it goes halfway and stays there, then it drops and not always when i am crusing up the freeway either. I suspect that landrover either did not bleed...

    Coolant temperature

I wonder if anyone can help. I just recently got LR to change my coolant and thermostate as it was 2 years oldtd in my 98 1.8 petrol Freelander. I supplied the coolant and thedistilled water. In the past the temperature reeding was always at half. Now sometimes it is at half and sometimes it...

    Vibration at approx 1750 rpm?

Hi, i have a similar problem on my 98 1.8 petrol. I havent done an imense amount of investigation, but i recon its to do with the prop shaft or the IRD suppot mounting Bracket that is fractured. Anyway, as i have had enough, i'm brining it to LR dealer to check out. i'll let you know if they...

    Rear Door Seal Replacement

Thats right, those pieces. I did something similar, but used Auto black sealant all the way around. That sorted my problem. However whilst fitting a tow bar, i also notivced that there are some rubber bungs under the reare of the rear whell arch on both sides. If these are missing, it is...

    Rear Door Seal Replacement

Thats right, but i was refering to the outer plastic black trim pieces. These are fixed into the body and that is where the water is coming in from. The rubber seal around the whole opening, weather 3 piesce or 1 piece is very unlikely to be the cause, as you can adjust the tilt of the window...

    Rear Door Seal Replacement

OK, let me shed some light. Firstly i have a 98 5 door so not sure if this is the same for the 3 door. I had the same problem when i bought the car. Golden rule, water due too the nature of gravity travels top to bottom. Check you rheadlining at the top of the window edge. If this is wet, then...

    Whats that noise?

OK, so i finaly sorted the new noise. It was a metal stud imbedded in one of the rear wheels. The tyres are all Pirelli scorpions and i have pumped up to 30 psi now. Noise is still there. I will be fitting some rubber under the headlights ( Diagnosed fault with them by LR). Though it does sound...

    Whats that noise?

Hi, i have had a 1998 freelander 1.8 petrol for just under a year. Its now got 70 k on the clock and ever since i have had it, i find that there is a constant whine from underneath. its more pronounced in the front of the car, but then again i've never been in the back while driving. Is this...
