Got the 1986 Range Rover home

A quick question. Should I check the current alternator before fitting the new one ? I'm pretty sure its dead but I guess I'll try. If its ok I'll keep the alternator as Range Rovers always have bad alt's.

Thanks treeman! :) You can see the N button on the right of the pic above the radio. Why would a choke have an "N" on it ? Weird if you ask me!

    Landy 200tdi nicked West Yorkshire

Yeah, I noticed it was a car dealer thing. The reason I still had my doubts was that a year ago I lost a Ford Fiesta and while walking around with the money I got from insurance wanting to buy another car I saw a Fiesta (at a dealership). Walked up to it and thought, hey thats like mine :lol...

How capable would my Landy be in TOUGH greenlaning conditions ?

1986 Range Rover 3.5 V8. If I got a snorkel how capable would it be in high water and such ? I don't want to modify it AT ALL! The snorkel is as far as I go. I hate even the slightest of modifications!

Got the 1986 Range Rover home

I also ordered a Haynes manual for the 1970-1985 Range Rover (I know, mines a 1986 but I guess the alternator and everything else like that is still the same logic) from the library.

    Landy 200tdi nicked West Yorkshire

1997 Land Rover Defender 2.5 TDi HARDTOP on eBay (end time 19-Mar-10 15:52:20 GMT) I know it has a P reg but they all look the same so it would be easy to "change" the year.

    Landy 200tdi nicked West Yorkshire

Are those rims common for the 200TDi's ? Cos theres one on ebay. IDENTICLE to yours, only with no bull bar or anything. Same red though, and same wheels! Plus it has the plastic wheel arch covers.
