Hi Tucka. Strangely enough mines started doing after changing maf and pressure valve? Cured everything by changing the turbo and have now created smoke again by changing these two items but did check my pcv (new bmw type and have found there's no oil getting up there now! Maybe they just don't...

    Td4 injectors

Hi Acker. Don't know wether it worth me putting my kenneth in but i've just bought four for my mk1 td4 reconned at £150 each. New your looking at around £600 plus. Saw a firm on Ebay doing them for £59 odd but i thought it was safer buying local in case there was any problem. Hope this may help

    blue smoke!

Yes. Must say, i'm really taken with the td4 despite the niggles and problems i seem to be having. Only wish the previous owner had kept some sort of service history to give some clues. Only had it since July and already had to change the battery, all brake pipes with full slave strips, exhaust...

    blue smoke!

Hi grumpy, this td4 is the first diesel iv'e had so diesel is a whole new world to me. Wish i'd been able to hang on to my old Mk1 petrol Defender but had to sell it years ago when bringing up a family that had over 300,000 on the clock and still purred like a kitten. Didn't realise how many...

    blue smoke!

Hi everyone. Thanks for being so helpful. Will start at square 1 and replace all filters (even though they've been done recently). I think the only filter that wasn't changed is the fuel filter so i'll start with that, then move on to all the other suggestions. will let everyone know how I get...

    blue smoke!

As far as i know the manifold has never been off. As i am new at this game, is it a difficult job to remove

    blue smoke!

Yes, oil level hasn't moved and was changed in july as soon as i bought it as there was no history with the vehicle Which was a bit of a concern so i got it checked by a mech but this has only started over the last 2/3 weeks

    blue smoke!

Is the crank case filter the one at the front of the engine looks a bit like a bottle (or old SU carb shape.) or is this just the oil filter? As you can probably tell i'm pretty new to all of this

    blue smoke!

Hi, its a 2006 with a 130,000 on the clock(march, last of the Mk1 series). have kept an eye on the oil level but seems to be stable, but is chewing diesel like it was going out of fashion. Probably on reflection the smoke is more greyish than blue but does leave an oily deposite on the...
