    Disco 2 Fuel filter

I've just done mine this morning whilst replacing the fuel line - went for Mahle which was just over £10. Wouldn't bother with a genuine one - they will be made my Coopers/Mahle etc but with a LR logo! Just avoid the unbranded crap along with ****part

Disco 3 parking brake failed during MOT

You need a VCDS cable which is the equivalent of hawkeye/nanocom - but once you've changed your discs/pads you can leave it alone until the next change. You can also rewind the caliper back using the VCDS cable, so saves a little time. Sounds like the landy engineers had a rummage around the...

Disco 3 parking brake failed during MOT

Electronic Parking Brake - why is it still using cables if it's electronic ? Sounds like a stupid system. My Audi has an EPB - when the rear discs/pads are changed you enter the thickness into the system. The EPB then keeps tabs on the wear rate and adjusts automatically. Why have a system that...

    Disco 2 Fuel pipe routing

Done - nice hole in the green line

    Disco 2 Fuel pipe routing

Cheers - found it towards back of tank. Any pointers on removing the green pipe ? I take it you can reach up behind and clip it in and out - need small hands by the looks! EDIT: looks like I can just about reach behind and pull the pipes off the clips. Getting there slowly!!

    Disco 2 Fuel pipe routing

As some of you may know our 2004 disco 2 has sprung a leak near the tank. I've got it on axle stands but no way are the tow bar bolts going to shift! So I'm going to tackle this without moving the tank - I presume the green high pressure pipe has a hole somewhere. I can follow the black white...

    Rotary oil filter

It's the LR stamp you pay for, nothing else! Unsure who makes the Land Rover filters - but Mann produce the filters for Audi and stamp 4 rings next to the part number. Audi then sell for double the price of Mann. Knowing this now - I always buy Mann filters no matter the vehicle!

Disco 2 Removing fuel tank - easy?

I have the same problem here - fortunately it failed to start on the drive rather than in town! As others have said - if it's the tank there will be diesel dripping continuously - if it's the pipes it will only leak when you try and turn it over. Looks like a crap job - I'm waiting for the...

Disco 2 TD5 won't start - diesel leak under tank

Is it usually the green pipe which goes ? Just to make things harder, the suspension has collapsed as well - will have to order some new bags.

Disco 2 TD5 won't start - diesel leak under tank

Looks like a right royal pain to replace. Expensive paperweight sat on the drive until I get round to it

Disco 2 TD5 won't start - diesel leak under tank

Our 2004 Disco 2 has been running fine up until this afternoon. Went to start - didn't sound like it was firing on all cylinders.....and cut out. Tried turning her over but wouldn't start. You can hear the pump making a whooshing nose (sucking in air) which isn't right. Left it for an hour...

    Disco 2 Rear Step Removal

My local LR indy sprays the underside with old engine oil and diesel! Says its the best way as you can see new rust coming through, whereas waxoil etc creates a layer of surface protection but the chassis continues to rust underneath without you knowing! Once you have rust you can't stop it...

    Disco 2 MAF sensor....clip

    Cheers - found a Siemens for £75 which isn't bad I suppose!

    Disco 2 MAF sensor....clip

Decided to unplug the MAF sensor as the Disco has had no go recently. Tried pulling the clip up with fingers but wouldn't budge - so found myself a screwdriver. There's me thinking it was a simple pull up and connector off job, but no! Clip comes winging off and I hear it land about 5 seconds...

Disco 2 3 amigos, battery link?

Cheapest through to most expensive fixes. 1. Shuttle valves 2. ABS sensors 3. ABS block That's pretty much it. I recently had the ABS block replaced which cost £2k (fortunately under warranty!). You can carry out the ABS mod for a few quid - but it ultimately depends on what the issue is. You...

Disco 2 Brake fluid reservoir - overflow ?

ABS unit was replaced by LR main dealer so "should" have been done correctly. They charged for absolutely everything including a tiny can of brake cleaner. They didn't charge for brake fluid nor did the calipers look like they has been touched. That is why I'm wondering if they bled the system...

Disco 2 Brake fluid reservoir - overflow ?

Just added a tad under 500ml and it's now settled. The ABS block was replaced the other week so maybe has something to do with it. Brakes are perfect, peddle is rock hard - clutch is spot on. Think I'll take it to local indy and get them to bleed the whole system inc the block and clutch just...

Disco 2 Brake fluid reservoir - overflow ?

Odd, will give it another go shortly - clutch and brakes seem fine. Just don't understand where all the fluid is going!

Disco 2 Brake fluid reservoir - overflow ?

This may be a stupid question! I replaced the rear calipers and bled the brakes - noticed when filling the reservoir it wont fill up to the max line. It only reaches max when I place the cap back on with the float. Is there an overflow on the reservoir to prevent overfilling ? Hadn't noticed...
