All said not many big classic (time will tell) 4x4's are without there foibles. (new word for me!). I've owned 2 P38's (amongst some real dross and crackers) and have encountered most of there issues including suspension and dead electrics, keep yer cool and you will overcome without heading off...

Thing is .... Wife loved, I mean LUVVED 'her' Pathfinder, so I viewed some really nasty ones including an Auto one (these are defo not pretty with regards the gear selector) and she's said 'maybe a Disco 3 would look better' ..... Result. Happy days.

Yeah I know about the 'body off stuff' will only happen every 100k/5yr hopefully.:) Oh, I had a Landcruiser as well. Need something a bit more PR to jump about in. Not unlimited on the ££££ front so it'll be a 3. I suppose it will need to be a test drive. Hope the sellers not a F***y

Thinking....Just thinking mind, about buying a Disco 3. I've owned a P38 4.6 in the past then had a few Jap 4x4's (Trooper, Patrol and Pathfinder) but presently own a P38 4.0. The Q is, will a Diesel D3 Auto be sprightly enough off the mark reason being I had a 'shot' of a diesel P38 and...

    considering another landy

After I sold my 4.6 I had withdrawal symptoms - I just really missed it. I then took a test drive in a 2.5 and was so dissapointed on its lack of power. I now have a 4.0 (its a tiny bit down on the 4.6 but noticable) - love it too bits. P.s. everything goes wrong.:D

    P38 Becm issues - I think!

Update. Doorcard off. Looks like the end of the barrell lock has broken/fallen off and is just danglin'. I've stuck a really small cable tie around it to hold it towards the lock so that when the lock turns it lifts the rod (thats attached to it) up and down and hopefully that will allow the EKA...

Thanks guys for all that info. Would the nanocom solve this? Would I just plug it in and Biff Baff Boff start and go?? Sounds like a smashing idea!

Any other way to get the EKA code in other than by key itself? As I think my problem lies within the lock...it feels as though its disconnected.
