my 300 tdi m reg did not just plug in DIFFERENT wiring conections......! extra conections on 200's plug in connections...! when i did mine i got the wiring and connections at the same time...... had to rewire 4 wires very easy to do....... takes longer to move diky seats go gain decent access...

just looked at vin no. you are right letter m before a. so does this mean not fitted with edc sysyem and no engine check light? and you were right all along with the fuel problem?

re changing hard top. can be done, easy job, just few bolts to undo would suggest getting a mate to help. just makes life easyier, i changed mine frequently on my own but easyier with two. can be easier to just change the side panels one at a time unless putting a safari roof on. ps...

just want to know of any pitfalls in changing the outer casing of the oil dipstick. seems easy enough, pull out old once unbolted, new o ring on new one push in and bolt to engine block. this seems to be the cause of the oil leak i have, broken off at the clamp..... just checking its as...

further to previous queries, undid the bleed niple on fuel filter and pumped lift pump by hand but no presure building up to pump fuel out of the bleed screw. but once got started still runs fine, could the pump be no good/ on way out etc? could this be the cause of the unwillingness to start...

it may sound silly but as i said im new to diesel. what is the vacuum pump, what does it do. what the likey to change etc , whats involved in doing this, where is it etc

great, sound easy enough..... ha ha when changing the fuel filter is it like changing oil filter just screw off and screw back on. do you need to fill fuel filter first or just put it on. then pump lift pump till the air is out and runs out of bleed screw

may sound silly, but as i ve said new to diesel engines is the fuel filter on the bulk head on the drivers side. looked at the lift pump and the arm under the pump is really free and has no preasuer in it, its just flapping in the wind!

further to my listing earlier....... im new to diesel engines....... persume lift pump is same/ similar to fuel pump do you need to bleed the system when changing lift pump and if so is there any one that could advise. :confused:

thanks, will try that. is there any way of testing lift pump(persume its the equivelent of fuel pump). with out taking it off? what they like to change? do you need to bleed system afterwards.
