Life with my Landy (Platty's Project Thread)

Thanks. I too would like an external temperature gauge. Do you have a link for the one you went for?

Life with my Landy (Platty's Project Thread)

Thanks. Colourwise the backlighting is off. It's currently a light greenyblue. Hoping a green window tint will bring it closer to the colour of the clocks/etc.

Life with my Landy (Platty's Project Thread)

Scangauge E I miss not having a realtime MPG indicator in the hippo so I ordered a Scangauge E. It arrived today, not a second to lose, I went about fitting it! Being smaller than a regular scangauge, finding a suitable place to mount it was easy. Out with the old, in with the...

Life with my Landy (Platty's Project Thread)

Life with my Landy (Platty's Project Thread)

So my relationship with Land Rover has just begun. I was (mis?)fortunate enough to pick up an 04 Freelander TDI from a dealer fairly local to me a couple of weeks back. She's an S with 2 previous owners, full LR service history and 109k on the clock. This Freelander replaces my daily...

FL1 to the rescue! (well, sort of)

Doors managed to stay on....to my surprise. The small amount of recovery gear I do own was tucked up warm and dry in my garage. Wellies (or waders) were sorely needed. As for driving through flood water.....I don't drink, I don't smoke, I always wear a condom, eat my greens and keep my...

FL1 to the rescue! (well, sort of)

I rescued a couple of stranded drivers this morning on Ripley Lane between Ripley and East Horsley! Whenever there’s any significant rainfall the road turns into a mini river. A couple of weeks back it was deep enough to make my A3 TDI Quattro float! I drove around a few nervous drivers...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Snapped bonnet release cable..... Opened the bonnet up with a 10mm spanner. I've fashioned a temporary fix while I source a replacement cable. I then carried on with the actual job I intended to do which was wet flatting the headlights to remove the UV damage they were showing.

Gotta be a ringer? Anyone on here know it before or after?

Neither would I....The Paypal fee for £3250 would be upwards of £100.

What have you done to your Freelander today

There's an ocean of design faults out there. It's not something only Land Rover are guilty of. My MINI has the wonderful Prince N14 engine. Peugeot/BMW design, it's blessed with Direct Injection which cause the inlet ports to coke up so badly you have to have the inlet stripped off and walnut...

Touché :p Mine will be a daily, I'll let you know how I get on. I quite like getting greasy, it keeps me out of trouble...The Devil makes work for idle hands!

    New member alert

I fully expect abuse for the TD4. I also fully expect to shout, swear, lose blood, sweat, money and sleep over owning it, but that's what weekends are for :5bcheers2: Wait till you see how I clean cars...The abuse will REALLY start to fly then! ;)
