    Stolen puma bonnets?

Same bonnet in both pictures. Same scratch marks between the letters D and R. And same hinges which don't match the colour of the bonnets. So how come there's two different sellers ( v60stu and lau23n ) ?

Defender Stolen Sheffield City Centre Late 6th Jan / Early 7th Jan

Land Rover will not supply any replacement Vin plates, with your Vin on or blank. I know because I tried to order a blank one through a Land Rover main dealer in November. The dealer contacted Land Rover and asked on my behalf but still no joy. However the dealer did suggest that I look on...

Any chance of a picture ?

    Black or White Defender roof?

White. Always go for a light cover to reflect the heat of the sun. Think of the future, all that global warming that has been predicted.

    Moto Lita Wheel

You could do what I did. Extend the bracket that holds the bottom of the steering column to the bulkhead in the engine bay. This has moved the steering wheel 2" closer to the instrument panel..... and as a bonus takes the steering/ignition lock further into the dash panel making it harder to...

    Truck Cab Storage Alarm?

What about wiring into the circuit that feeds the door light switches and fit similar switches to the locker doors ? Should set off the vehicle alarm.

    Part Identification

Have you tried an authorised Land Rover dealer, they are bound to have supplied a few of these in the past to customers who have lost them

    Defender Security

Sometimes it's easier to steal a vehicle from a garage than from outside, especially if the garage is not attached to the house. Reason is a lot of people don't lock their cars in their garage and the laziest buggers even leave the the key in the ignition.

    Moto Lita Wheel

I once priced up the standard wheel at an authorised Land Rover dealer about 5 years ago. They quoted £240-00 and that's without the HOVIS centre pad. And they were quick to tell me that they actually had one in stock that I could take away with me. I bet it's still on their shelf now...

    Moto Lita Wheel

Sounds to me that Winblowdriver has the wheel that was fitted to TD5's, that I call the HOVIS wheel due to the centre pad which I think looks like a small loaf of bread.

    Defender Security

Buy yourself a sheet of 1/2" plywood and cut out the shape of a 6 foot tall well built man and place it near an upstairs window so that it's silhouette is visible from where your Landy is parked. The scum bags will look at your house before they touch the Landy and slink away. To make it more...

I need a air cleaner assembly

I just remembered that I have a Land Rover One Ten parts catalogue dated October 1989, which covers vehicles up to August 1986. It shows an oil bath air cleaner (part number 279652 ) of the type used on series III Land Rovers, also an other slightly different design oil bath air filter ( part...

Isn't that the one for a Series Landy ?

    Designa chassis? Any good?

My Defender has a Designa chassis that I bought 15 years ago. Seemed to be a good chassis, though I had to elongate the bolt holes in the chassis to make my front bumper sit level. Also the right hand engine front casing would not allow me to fit my power steering box as it was in the way...

Defender Stolen Sheffield City Centre Late 6th Jan / Early 7th Jan

A standard Disklok is not good enough, you need to add more steel to it according to how much room there is around the column. Even if you only use a bit of scrap steel that you have lying around, which is what I did.... see attached pic.

    110 A676EEF stolen in Sheffield S8 21st jan

Yes, and it's probably got visible security. They may return to take that one, once they have broken and sold yours. Did you try to follow your own wheel tracks to get an idea of where it was heading ? How many different footmarks were round your parking space and what sort of size were they...

went to see series 3 today take a look

Looks well worth buying, especially if the chassis is in reasonable condition... or even if you were flush enough to be able to build it up onto a new galvanised chassis.

Another Ebay 'darling'. Legit or blatant ringer?

I can't help wondering if the seller of this Landy is reading our comments on it ? Or maybe the new owner ? I'm sure there are quite a few people who would buy it if the price was right, and take a chance that the authorities don't bother to investigate it. Well, now's your chance to speak...
