Todays the day, no more Defenders,

As for the safety thing, I don't think being run over by a new Range Rover (or most other 4x4) is going to be a laugh.

This wasn't just over splash, they stuck out 2" more than the standard arches, and as most of my driving is in rural areas, it really did get plastered, including the side windows and mirrors.

;) Know what you mean about the arches, it was cock up after cock up, the wheels had a bigger offset than I thought, and plastered the side in crap including the door handles, so as they cost so much I bought the arches to cover them, luckily, if I remove them, I kept the original arches...

I have had various land rovers over the years, three series twos, one of which was a Steve Parker 3 litre v6 with auto box, one of the first Ashcroft auto conversions, and fitted by Colin Cowley. A '71 Range Rover...

I am not now sure I like the new look, I might remove the big wheels and arches and go for some nice white wolf wheels, it's only for road use, I got the "off roading" and trailing out of my system years ago.

    HRW update / help

Having stripped rear door, i have found the connection terminal has come away from the glass. I am told you need special, conductive glue to fix it back on. Have tried halfords and maplins without any luck, any ideas or suggestions please.

    td4 auto

Thanks for all that lads, mine is a '56 facelift model (the expensive road tax one). In sport mode the lever moves nicely, and manually changing from 5th to 4th, its only notchy when stationary and selecting any position, if its any clue, i never use the handbrake on autos, just relying on park...
