    bumper fitting kit

B&Q do a good selection these days and at a reasonable price, they also do bags of large hose clips very cheap.:)

    Cruise control

Give it a Google I say, you always find something by doing this. I would not think that Momo would make many versions of a cruise control.

    Who are the 'experts'?

Right on the nose ! I think that in some way as we all have to spend time getting intimate with these wonderful machines, we all gain some knowledge of a particular aspect and willingly pass it on. It may not work for you but when it does, it does promote a great feeling of pride in helping a...

    Mig Gas!!!

Argoshield 'T' I think is the latest gas and it is good. I use to rent a bottle from BoC until it got so expensive. It started out at £75 for 5 years, then £75 for 3 years and I think its now £110 for 2 years, and thats just the rental, the gas extra. A mate of mine uses a company called 'Air...

    discovery td5 alarm

I thought the reciever on a TD5 was the round black thingy centre top of the dash near the windscreen. Is there one in the rear headlining ?

    TD5 interior lights.

Doh......not the Main Stealer, that always = £££'s  I think a good look in daylight will have to be carried out first and check the fuses. Cheers tho'.

    Leaking Sunroof

How difficult / easy is it to remove the roof lining. I would certainly like to make a proper job of this as it does cause other serious problems in time.

    TD5 interior lights.

My interior lights, all three that is will only work in manual mode, i.e., by using the switch on the actual light, they never work when you unlock the car on the fob, or open the door when getting out. I cannot find any door operated switches, but it was getting dark last night when I was...

    Leaking Sunroof

Yes it should work fine. Both my Discovery's have suffered from leaky sunroofs, and the TD5 front sunroof has even been sealed completely up with black mastic. Thankfully to Landyzone info, I have sealed the outer frame to roof seal with silicone and I am now in a drought. Brilliant.:D

    TD5 air suspension & towing.

Thats good to hear, I am looking forward to getting the van on the back but the weather now has really got a bit more seasonallised (is that a word) by that I mean wet, although it is not cold. We keep the caravan in a storage compound so it won't get hooked until we have an outing.

    TD5 air suspension & towing.

I just cannot get it down. The Lunar is fitted with allsorts of extras and when completely empty, and I mean completely, i.e., no gas bottles, spare wheel or anything in the cupboards or front compartment, she comes in at about 220 kgs. The caravan forums are full of people having trouble with...

    windscreen replacement

I am always concerned that when you claim for a windscreen through the insurance, although it is really peanuts to them, your insurance seems to go up by cocnuts, and over the years, it is cheaper to pay yourself, after all when you say insurance, the cost of a replacement windscreen is about...

    TD5 Vibration/Shudder

/\/\/\ Spot on but also you can only completely check propsshafts by removing them as the joints also sieze up through lack of grease and thus do not have any play in them initially.

    12v????

I thought the additional wiring was only added to the late Discos like TD5's and not the earlier 200 and 300's.

    windscreen replacement

I have just had the screen replaced on my TD5 which was tinted and chipped. I did not bother with insurance and got it done for £150.....cash, which I thought was cheap.

td5 es auto oil blow out

I'm not an expert on these but I do own a TD5 auto only recently purchased, and I also own a 300 tdi auto which has been splendid in all respects which is why I bought another auto. Did you not see from where the oil was being expelled as this would give some indication to the cause of the...

    12v????

Does your socket illuminate when you put the lights on, it may well be the wire that should be connected elsewhere for this. Why not put a meter on it, turn on the ignition, turn on the lights and see if any power registers.

    Disco 2 De Cat

This is interesting. I have not looked underneath my newly aquired TD5 yet (frightened to I think) so I can't say whether it has a Cat, but is there any year / model guide available which defines CAT usage, i.e. early models or late models. manual or autos etc., also I have a trackday car which...
