on my series 3 i need to know which type i have please....no push button just the handle etc....109 lwb 1984 model i think mines anti burst as the key barrel hole is in the door rather than in the door cut out but best be sure before i order a set

still restoring the old girl and put the finished door back on and tried everything to see if it all works:p....noticed only the back door locks with the key:eek: as the passenger door has no lock and the drivers door needs a different key:mad: so i am after 3 lock barrels with the same...

iirc most paint suppliers like brown brothers can make an aerosol up with any colour you want but its not as cheap as a ready made one etc... to be fair it aint gonna look like the colour you want anyway

to to be fair this is misleading.....as i have painted quite alot of those colours in my time and you have metallic paint listed under in the non metallic section.....ppg/deltron is crap paint as well........since they took over ici the service they use to supply as gone to the dogs.....i...

on some stubborn low profile tyres we have to do this as well....usually inflate to 2 bar but have to take some way past that to 3 bar plus to pop the tyre then deflate to recommended pressure

when i paint wheels i do not take tyre off as you will damage the paint on the rim refitting....all i do is let the air out and break the tyre bead so its away from the wheel....mind you we have a tyre machine in our body shop so its easy for me:D:D:D

lol.........i would if i could or i would just strip the black off the silver grill as someone has just hand painted it but i cannot nitromors it as the grill is plastic:eek:

if the paint is ok on the wheels then just flat them down...grey scotch pad is fine then repaint...no need to take wheels off but go to local tyre place and have them break the tyre from the wheel on the side you are painting...easy to mask then and just refill with air and hear the tyre go pop:D

as to be silver as i have a black one

previous owner had attacked it with nitromors and an angle grinder then it was left like that for 14 months...its a pain to do

i am **** hot with a spraygun but a complete novice with spanners in my hand....want to remove the scuttle vents on a series 3...removed the hinge pin.....and undone the 2 screws inside the cab holding the vent lever etc....do i now remove the 1 nut and bolt at the vent side as its quite fiddly...

looking at the painting pics brought back memories lol....when i first started with ici cellulose and polyurethane back in the late 70s we never used newspaper but rolls of patterned wall paper.....then we progressed to brown paper......now we cannot use paper but its all plastic sheeting...

3m and farecla do compound in a tube but to be honest you will not denib the flies out succesfully...i use waterbase and high solids clearcoat and occasionally flies land on mine:eek:..i pull them out with masking tape and drop another coat on...i use 3m green top fast compound with 1500/2000...
