Make sure you have a good quality impact socket set (6 sided rather than the multi points) that way it doesn't put as much pressure on the edge of the bolt and round it off. If you can get an oxy torch on there and get them glowing and they should wind out no problems!
I've seen the D1 but on my old farm 300tdi the mechanism kept seizing and felt very primitive. I'd like to get a nice cable operated one if possible.
I'll join those Facebook groups and see what I can find there thanks!
I have the basis of the air system but the strut I have has too big of a...
Just sounds as if he's been making them himself, but he hasn't been active on here since 2014 so I doubt I'll be getting one from him!
I'm in the middle of making an air operated one but it's not going to be cheap for an onboard air system and getting the parts machined up.
Just need the...
This is the link to where I found it: http://www.discovery2.co.uk/d2cdl.html
By the sounds of it he adapts a standard Hi/Lo lever to have the diff linkage on it but not 100%
I've been Googling it the last few months but I'll try another few forums etc and see if they can help me with one.
Hi everyone,
I've got a new transfer box to go into my TD5 with a diff lock. I don't have lever to engage it.
I seen Urban Panzer used to make them on his website but have had no reply to the email I've sent. Is he still active and able to make these levers does anyone know?
I don't fancy...
Wasn't posting to cause an argument, I let the OP know my experience with the question he asked. Who says I haven't told my insurer? With regards to my speedo its now more accurate than it previously was with original sized tyres.
Just fitted 265/75/16 Maxxis Bighorn MT764 on my Discovery 2 with Range Rover alloys 16x8 et52 and the only part it rubs on mine is the left arch liner on full lock. I haven't adjusted steering stops or anything, no rubbing on radius arms either. Got a good bit of flex going on standard...
Hope it turns out to be that. Aye it seems to work well in prototype form, waiting for the Mrs dad to come back so he can machine me up the parts in final form!
Shane
I hope its that as I have a replacement transfer box to go in with a diff lock which I'm currently making an air shifter for :p I guess I'll see when I strip it down to change it! Thanks for the reply.

Hi there!
Recently purchased a new to me Discovery TD5 with 113k miles on it. I never noticed it the first few miles but heard a loud clunk when in a narrow street when I let off accelerator and put it back on. Now I've noticed it, I can't stop hearing it and wondering if any of yous have an...
If your still after one I'll be selling my current non-locking diff one currently fitted to my 53 plate Diso TD5, located Newcastleton, Scottish Borders.

I have just purchased a fresh transfer box from a breakers and it was very grubby. I used a bit of diesel in a tub and a paint brush and coated it with that. I let it sit for a bit then brushed it until it looked reasonably clean, then pressure washed it and it looks almost like new!

I have one that has a mint engine, although the oil light has came on (possible oil pressure switch one will come with it), gearbox, and axles. Only thing is I'm based in Newcastleton in the Scottish Borders.
Thanks, Shane.
