Sometimes it's hard to find specific threads - titles vary so much and wording is different so certainly in my case, after a fruitless search, I often find it easier to start a new thread. Then, often, a helpful member will post a link to a previous thread or two. Doesn't do any harm and keeps...

I know it's been asked before but there are lots of new people now!:D I reckon, although not double checked and worked it out precisely, that get about 30 - 35mpg with quite mixed driving conditions. No off roading as such but lots of slow poor roads and lots of steep up and down hilling mixed...

I would have thought you should do a little better....I feel a new (it's been done before though!) thread coming on....

Eh? What mileage did you get in yer Jag? My Disco does circa 35mpg, surely the Jag didn't? Sure you haven't got a problem there?:eek: Or are Jags much better on fuel than I ever thought they would be?:D

Had same problem last year, tried replacing and re-engaging..worked a few times then went down too far again Tried a few things but ended up buying a new regulator. What I didn't renew was the bottom bit that grips the glass but wished I had as it sort of bent and twisted itself, caught on...

Doesn't this sound more like the little return spring has snapped? You can get em on Ebay for about a fiver - I've just ordered some cos my back door is the same. In fact, the bloke who sells em has just gone on holiday for a week though! Do a search either on this forum or on Ebay for discovery...

Have you tested the motor itself? If power's getting through and the relay's ok then maybe that's where the prob is, can you get a 12v supply directly to it to test?
