Got a chance of purchasing a 1995 Disco 3.9i auto, what do the panel think of this idea? Just how thirsty will it be? How different will it be from my 300TDi and will it go up steep hills faster than 20mph?:) What should I look for apart from the usual stuff - anything different? Any worldly...

That's exactly what mine does and has done for over a year that I've owned it....bigish cloud of black smoke, does it much more when engine is warm, gotta make sure no-one's walking past the back of the car when I start it! Asked the same question when I joined the forum! :D

Just cleaned sedimenter out for the first time, fair bit of crud in there........anyone know a good cure for an armpit full of diesel btw? :eek: Don't think it's made a lot of difference though.

It seems down on power all round actually, now that we're back to Spain there are hills that it would go up in second that I now have to change down to first to get going up. Gonna clean the sedimenter out now, can't find fuel leaks, all filters renewed recently, see if that helps.

Hiya, anyone else with aircon find that the power drops considerably when you turn your aircon on? Have to turn mine off to get up some of the steep hills round here ! Gradients that would be ok in 3rd are down to second gear and steeper ones that normally it'll chug up in 2nd mean a change down...

me glow plug light started not coming on a couple of days ago but intermittently, sometimes it did. Now seems to have stopped coming on at all. Pardon my stupidity but does this likely mean that there's a problem with the plugs...or that me bulb's gone? Car starts ok but it's not cold so I guess...
