    lpg cutting out

75 miles from 55 litres isn't good. 6.2 mpg. You should be getting easily twice that, in town. Get the LPG serviced...

    classic questions?

A decent set up is probably all that's needed. K&N filter probably won't, well, it'll help when on petrol, but AFAIK they don't help much on gas. Doesn't make sense to me.. Get it on an emissions tester, tweak it until the lambda reading is around 1.01 and 1% CO at idle. The screw on the...

    classic questions?

My local LPG chap hates the likes of K&N filters for some reason. I've had a few Classics with LPG, 15mpg on a run should be easily within reach for anything that's set up right using standard parts, never mind using special tweaked stuff. I'll be a bit ****ed off if my turbo one doesn't do 15...

    Slipping auto gbox

It's probably a buggered 'box. You've not tuned the engine recently have you? If you repeatedly rev (say 3000 rpm) the engine with the gearbox in neutral it can fry the box very rapidly indeed. Brown fluid means that there is a brake band in the gearbox that's fried.

Confused......Where did it come from ?

Personally, I'd be running a mile from any Rover V8 with more than a tiny bit of mayo on the filler cap, and even then I'd be nervous about it. I'd avoid any car that's only been used for short runs anyway.

1994 Classic "Softdash" Audio Wiring (incl rear sub woofer)

I've registered with your site, but I'm yet to get the e-mither so it all appears to be blank, g'dammit.. I suspect I'm going to wish I hadn't, because I always end up wanting another Mk2 when I look at things like that.

    Possibly not if it's flooding....

    V8 oil pressure @ idle

My 3.5 reads around 60-70psi when cold at 2000 rpm, dropping to around 50psi when warm. Idles at around 40psi cold, 25ish warm. As it's the same basic engine, I'd expect similar oil pressure from a 4.6

1994 Classic "Softdash" Audio Wiring (incl rear sub woofer)

Heh, I've had loads of Mk2 RS2000's. KHD114W, MTU11T, XEM649W, PKD683S, SKY345S, and they're just the ones I remember. I'd love another one. As for the stereo question, dunno!

    range rover wont start

Is the cold start valve running all the time? Try unplugging it and see if it starts any better like that.

    Dhse Gearbox Settings

I don't know which gearbox is in the DHSE, but if it's the ZF 4HP24 then it could be the same problem that you get sometimes with the ZF4HP22 box in the Classic. On the 4HP22 this is often a symptom of the kickdown cable being adjusted incorrectly (too tight), slackening off the cable cured it...

Freaky electric mirrors on my classic

If it's a Vogue SE, then you'll have the "memory" electric seats and mirrors. Try setting your mirrors and the seat to the memory. IIRC you just set them then press the memory button on the seat control panel along with "1" or "2". My last '91 had them and occasionally the n/s mirror would just...

Hey looking to source a turbo dump valve?

He's right y'know. A dump valve on a TDi is pretty pointless. It'd vent all the boost from the intercooler and create tons of lag. Lag is bad, especially on a diesel. I don't have a dump valve on mine (V8 turbo) because I'm only running 5-6 psi of boost and the lag is bad enough as it is. Dump...

RR Classic Cant shift into low box

If you remove the gearlever surround on the centre console, you can unscrew the auto selector (four screws) and get direct access to the transfer box linkages which are much easier to lubricate when you can see the bloody things. The auto selector is on a cable which is adjusted from the other...

    p38 4.0 lpg or 2.5 diesel?

I suspect you should. A 3.9 Classic should manage 14-15 mpg at 70 on LPG.

    Oil change .....How often?

Every 3000 on mine, but it does murder oil somewhat.

    range rover wont start

That's the gubbin that the electronic ignition uses to work out when to spark. Doesn't spin by hand, does it? Cos if it does it's not in right....

You have got the rotor arm fitted correctly haven't you?

    Range Rover Classic Speakers

I think they're 5 1/4". I got some ok ones from Halfrauds for around £45. As for a sub, I'm running an Alpine 12" in a ported box, amp mounted where the jack and wheelbrace go (behind the 'curtain' type thing) and a Nakamichi CD500 head unit. Sounds bloody lovely.
