my bro v8 not working

as the title says my brother has got a rangie 3.5 v8 and its not working

about a week ago it would start and idle but would take 10-15 secs to rev to 2000rpm and then stop.

now its doesnt start at all.

last month he gave it a full service plugs, leads, dizzy, fuel filter, oilfilter more less he changed almost everything needed to make it work. still didnt work though.

it was running gas but it wasnt working properly so he ripped it out. didnt know if that might have something to do with it.

when he took it out last month greenlaning was doin about 4 to the gallon so he cleaned the engine with 10k boost then thats wen it wouldnt rev ?

so if anyone could help would be much appreciated!!!!

Errm, sorry to be the harbinger of doom, but it sounds like it needs a rebuild. New timing chain, camshaft, dizzy, head gasket (only refit heads with 10 bolts not 14), tappets correctly shimmed, timing reset so that TDC is TDC on the timing marks. Will probably work like a dream straight off.

I suspect it's more likely to be dizzy related.

oh nasty he wont like the sound of the rebuild part of it .....


he replaced the dizzy last month with the service


ill let him know and see what he says???
