    RRC auto gearboxes?

Sorry, Usenet speak. Means "Don't Ask Me How I Know, I Just Do, Ok?" Roughly translated as "Don't try and lift the autobox complete with transfer box unless you want to wear your bollocks as ear-rings".

    RRC auto gearboxes?

It's not a hugely difficult job, but it does take time to do, and the gearbox is very heavy - obscenely so if you try to remove it with the transfer box still attached (DAMHIKIJD,OK?) Sounds to me like you've killed the 'box.

    In Vogue

"In Vogue" was a Wood and Pickett design. I've got a W&P Range Rover (on ebay now, plug, plug), and they're utterly hopeless with info as they're just a custom shop for Minis now. Don't seem to be related to the company that did Range Rover stuff anymore.

    RRC auto gearboxes?

that 20 mins doesn't include refilling the auto box though.... that can take some time to get right.

    RRC auto gearboxes?

Transmission oil cooler is a long stick thing that looks like a bog brush behind the front grille. Be careful taking it off, if you need to do so as the pipes are unobtanium for the early ones - well, they were when I needed 'em. Gearbox oil filter is a dead easy job, takes 20 mins if you've...

I suspect I'll be spending Sunday washing and waxing the bloody thing. I've got a 4.6 HSE, the tax on everything pre-2001 is in two bands. <1550cc, and >1550 cc. Over 1550cc is £185 a year.

    Steering guard and bull bars

I've bought a P38 as I can't take the Turbo with me when I'm working abroad. I want £2000 minimum for it, it's very tidy indeed other than needing the bonnet painting. It owes me more than that... It's ebay item 140226266099

    Steering guard and bull bars

It's a 3.5, yeah. Power is around 250 bhp with the turbo backed off to 5 psi. Fuel consumption is around 14 mpg in town, about 18 on a run. If you want to have a look at it, no problem, I'm always up for meeting fellow Landy freaks, but it's on ebay, so I might not have it next week...

    I want a P38 but.........

Should be pretty difficult to buy a bad one for that money. Arse has fallen out of them price wise since the budget road tax increase. Bizarre when it only actually affects the last of the P38s. Plenty of choice out there. I bought my '95 4.6 HSE for way less than you have to spend and it's one...

    I want a P38 but.........

My purchasing technique was "Does the air suspension work as it should?" "Does it use any oil or water?" "Does it drive well?" Luckily mine drives well, doesn't use oil or water and the air suspension is comfy and very quick to rise. Can raise it from "crawl" to the top height setting in...
