    Height Sensor Readings and Calibration

Thanks Kevin, really appreciated. Eric - Now I can see the pic (couldn't at work) it does look like your one backs up what Rasheed had said in his linked post. Are you able to do a continuity check on the flying lead to see if pin 1 at one end is the same as pin1 at the other? Just...

Cheers - Will check my right hand one (trying to change the left) to see if its got a braket.

    Drivers Window won't stop.....

He's gotta be GFL surely, I have just choked on my lunch with a vision of Dogsbody clicking his fingers in front of his face, saying in an horrible merkin accent: "Come on girlfriend, keep up" And don't try to tel me you're not all hearing that in your heads now!!! :p:p:D

    Height Sensor Readings and Calibration

When you say loom, do you mean the internal wire colours or the outer sheath? If outer sheath, I'd suggest that's just an identification. But, bear in mind my issue is that on my car I shouldn't have looms coming off either side, the main loom (i.e from the ECU to the sensor) should plug...

    Height Sensor Readings and Calibration

Thanks Rasheed, Have you got any pics of the fitting? Although ,from the pics of the internals that Datatek and I have posted, they do look quite different.

    Height Sensor Readings and Calibration

Thanks Kev, PM sent. It definitely looks like I've got the wrong setup on mine, lets hope my earlier guess at a swap to coils and back again is right :) Keith, Kev is going to send me up another later, non-flylead version so I can try with bot the same. If both give low readings, then...

    Height Sensor Readings and Calibration

Fair play, one less confusion :) Pics of the inside of the flylead sensor attached. Might just be me, but that looks like the track goes all the way round, so would it have been swappable? Either way, knackered, and defo not one of the newer ones. So would that explain the low...

    Height Sensor Readings and Calibration

OK, I'll take the old one apart now. Interestingly, Island only list one ECU and I had a quick look on the bay at them (more for pics than anything else, I wouldn't buy these secondhand), but, there was one listing which was for a sensor with a wire, for fitting 94-02. First thoughts were...

    Height Sensor Readings and Calibration

Continuity all good between FL multiplug and ECU pins 3 & 5, so gues it has to be down to the sensors then. Any thoughts, or anything else I can try?

    Height Sensor Readings and Calibration

Typical, no numbers on my ECU. Here's a pic though if it helps. Those are the same ones I have Kev, although I'm not sure I should!! I wonder though if it had previously been on springs, and some sensible person put it back to air, albeit with the earlier setup! Has anyone tried a later...

    Height Sensor Readings and Calibration

Will do. Gonna check continuity at the same time, I Believe pins 3&5 on the ECU for the FL, although that might depend on the ECU as well! back inabit

    Height Sensor Readings and Calibration

:mad::mad: Me too. No obvious signs, and never been a problem with the chassis no. when I've had to get parts from the stealers. V5 all present and (seemingly) correct. Any other way I can check?

    Height Sensor Readings and Calibration

pic of old and new. Cleaned multiplug, still reading 42 on the standard height blocks. Now to rave to try to work out which pins off the ECU go to FL. Might have a quick search first to see if they can be mixed though.....

    Height Sensor Readings and Calibration

Interesting, it's defo one with a flying lead that has come off, but I've got a 2000 plate rangey, so shouldn't even be near a cross over. Theoretically though, if they're wired the same, should it matter even if they are different types, could be someone has put earlier types on mine at some...

    Height Sensor Readings and Calibration

Cheers guys. I had thought about whether it was a front one, but the pics all look to be correct against rave. The only thing different is that the multiplug goes directly into the sensor on the new one where the old one had a fly lead off it (into the multiplug). I'm hoping that's just a...

    Height Sensor Readings and Calibration

Will do. stuck at work for the day now tho, so will be this evening before I get to it :( Do they not work with high readings at one end of the movement, and low at the other? I'm assuming they do, hence the feeling that it's upside down. This may be an incorrect assumption!!

    Height Sensor Readings and Calibration

Pleased I didn't try to encourage it then :) I presume there's no way of disconnecting the arm from the sensor and kinda turning it over, it feels like it should be on the other end of the travel to get higher reading, if you see what I mean. That said, I've changed it because I was getting...

    Height Sensor Readings and Calibration

Yep, new sensor, dunlop in a LR box no less (from the bay tho!!!). Rave gives differing instructions for swapping from 97MY, so it is an assumption that its 97. It's the mounting it correctly I'm not 100% sure of. Purely because the readings seem 'upside down', i.e the value went up...

    Height Sensor Readings and Calibration

OK, just gone to put the old one back on so I can drive her tomorrow, but that's now only reading 5! Gonna go check the tyre pressures on the bike for tomorrow then!! Any ideas?:confused:

    Height Sensor Readings and Calibration

Hi All, Just changed the FL height sensor on my 2000 4.6. I understand that from 97MY on they can be swapped from side to side, but I'm struggling to calibrate it due to some dodgy readings. I have blocks for standard height, so she's currently sitting on those (double checked with...
