    Brake pedal height

Don't know if its linked, but my (ABS) light and handbrake light seam to be taking longer to go out after start-up these days. Connected? I also a slight click if I press the peddal gently (could just be a washer or something possibly or the brake light switch)

Follow this link HERE it was what you where looking for and is the same just from another link. You will probably get a copy with your cable (software is free license, so don't let anyone sell you it)... I downloaded mine so I could have a 'play' so to speak and rad up on how to use it and...

2.5 DSE P38 auto changing gears funny between 1st and second please watch video

Mine is doing the same thing (also ECU remapped). I also have a filter kit and the (wait for it)... 10lit of oil (although you only use 9.7 I think. I'm not planning on doing two changes due (see that as a waist of oil) - so I've got myself a little pump) so I can pump the remaining oil out of...

Is it coming inside at all (check foot wells)? Any Temp issues? Oil contamination? Increased Fuel consumption?

Took the plunge tonight and depressurized the system to take the compressor out to rebuild. Tested the pump first with my finger over the outlay... Poor I though to my self as I could stop the flow of air just by putting my thumb over the outlet. So I replaced the 2 'o' rings and the Teflon...

    Hot start fix issues

Mine normally runs at 750 then about 800 on cold for about 20 30 secs. I had to strip the wires needed when linking in with the crap connectors supplied as when I did the fix the first time round they didn't even make proper contact and I had all sorts of running problems with not changing...

I have a compressor pump seal set Which I will do tomorrow. Resetting the system just now though I did notice an odd sympthom which may help to diagnose. When selecting a height setting (going up) she will take an age to establish the new height. The rear lift quite well, then the front just...

    97 P38 DSE self service

The reason I was thinking about the Glow Plugs was two point. 1) I don't know when they where last done and 2) due to having a hot fix fitted - she uses the glow plugs to start even when warm so I use them much more than normal. But if they last that long - I gues I'll be ok for a while yet.

Filter off and cleaned through - although both where flushed with car cleaner and rinsed off dried and replaced. Both where not fouled up with grit or anything though. I have considered a rebuilt VB?? or 2nd hand Driver pack? (if the second hand driver pack does the trick would swap for a OEM...

    97 P38 DSE self service

Right... I'll give it a go. I had planned to do it this weekend nut the EAS has other ideas - So I'm currently having to fix that first I think. Thank you for all the input.

    97 P38 DSE self service

Ok... so I guess the response is that I DO need to bleed the system as per RAVE is I want to do things the correct way but may be 'lucky' and get away without doing it if I fill the filter with Derv before fitting. I might just take to garage and ask them to do it for me and keep my eyes fixed...

    97 P38 DSE self service

Thanks for the constructive replies... Ill get hold of some Genuine Glow plugs. Still stuck on the Fuel filter though as I'm not confident enough to go messing with fuel lines and using specialist tools if the system really needs to be bled after fitting. Like you Tommo; I don't know when...

    97 P38 DSE self service

Hi guys, Although I have done a search. I still can't find an answer so having to post.... sorry for the stupid questions that follows but I'm just about to do my first ever service and just need a nudge in the right direction: I've got myself a filter kit and checked RAVE CD regarding service...

    Brake pedal height

Cruse is fine and she kicks down without issue. If the accelerator is lower than normal.. then I'd keep it that way as I've go used to her reactions now. Can you set the brake pedal height?

    Brake pedal height

May well be a stupid question... but what height is the brake pedal in my P38 DSE (97) supposed to be? My pedal is a lot higher than the accelerator (I can almost get my foot sideways from the accelerator under the brake pedal)... I often (in boots) catch the pedal when moving from accelerator...

    Pyrenees or Alps?

If I didn't think mine would do 100miles... I'd be getting rid of it or fixing it. Want's the point of a vehicle that you can't trust? I suspect the 100miles was possibly a typo and was supposed to be 1000 miles.

    p38 strange squeal/whistle from transmission

I had a squeak about a month back... more like a bird singing away somewhere in the front or under the seats kind of thing. Would do it when throttle applied and go when you took foot off.... It turned out to be UJ as surgessted on forums when I asked. Just as 22s said. Part is about £14. Think...
