Deep inside those two holes is an allen key bolt. About 4mm i think. Turn it to wind in the lugs that hold the radio in. I only found out when I mullered my original head unit to get it out! I thought those holes were to accept something to push in to release it, as is common with head units...
Ive cleaned the maf and aap. I noticed the elbow pipe between the turbo and solid bit of pipe leading to the intercooler looks ropey. I undid one of the jub clips and noticed it looks like the layers are splitting? Could this be a problem?
Im going to clean maf and aap today. Ive done map already when i removed egr. Im probably just being picky, the truck does shift when i boot it and its easy to forget its one heavy bit of metal. I would like to find someone nearby with a diagnostic puter thingy just to see if everythings in...
Probably nothing, took it to be remapped and we ended up with quite an aggressive map to make it "go". Bloke mentioned it felt a bit flat down low in rev range. Turbo must be working though because it flys now with the hammer down.
I have 2002 td5 disco. How much should the wastegate move and when? Mine is quite hard to move with a pair of mole grips on the bar, impossible to move by hand. When I rev it hard, it moves about 5mm momentarily. Im wondering if its effecting my performance?
It's ok folks, found one on fleabay eventually. Came with what looks like a nearly new water pump too! So i'll stick it on and hopefully thats that job done.
Changing the cambelt on my 200tdi disco and some bolts ont he water pump sheared off in the timing cover. Trying to remove them, i've cracked the timing cover, right where the water channel is! Wheres the best place to find a replacement timing belt cover... i've tried fleabay and can't see any.
Its a commercial product that is suitable for petrol or diesel engines. Im just speaking as ive found, it was recommended to me by a TD5 owner and ive been very impressed.
Sounds like you have a bag or bags leaking. One way to tell is make a soapy solution up, cover both bags, start vehicle and get someone to bounce on back of truck while you watch for bubbles.
Have you noticed it sat on its bump stops when its been left for any length of time?
I'd be up for this, by coincidence was just looking at those lanes on Trailwise. Also came across these piccies
