Nathan's offer is still a good one ,even with the unlock code for the diesel and new cable it's still cheaper than buying a single vehicle nano.;)

Try checking the voltage output carefully at the back of the alternator to see if you are just experiencing a drop in voltage through the cables. But if it's still 13ish volts at the alt,replace it. :)

Does the engine check light come on briefly when you turn on the ignition?

So for 350gbp ish you could have a 2 license nano with both cables,sounds ok to me

You would need to pay bbs for the unlock code but it's the same cable for all p38's

If it's any help i did mine , and a few others have done theirs ,without cutting the vent pipe in half.Just push it to one side and the other to get access, a bit fiddly but do-able.

look up a guide thread done by stufer i think pics and all. Couple of hours work, just a bit fiddly but no fancy tools required apart from a long screwdriver, and a socket or 2.

Micky , i had the same thing happen to me, ecu case touched the battery and lost mil and glow plugs and turned over but not starting. Try attaching an earth from the corner screw on the casing of the ecu to negative side of battery.Worked for me :)

worth checking to see if the viscous fan is over cooling the engine. Datatek has the details of an air con fan mod which lets you remove the viscous on the diesel, works well. Ed

Is it telling you the BECM is locked ,or the function itself it locked on Nanocom? If it is the former then,as the guru's have said, that is normal. If it is the latter however, then as others have said it could be an unlock code entered incorrectly when setting up Nanocom. :)

Best bet is to PM Datatek on here .He will supply you with the software on cd with a copy of RAVE and the lead to do your own. All you need is a laptop ;)

Easy job,inlet manifold off and good access. Should take an hour or less ,maybe more on the first attempt. just be gentle removing them , they have been known to snap off in the head. Some plusgas or the like and take it easy when undoing them
