Unless you don't screw your filter on properly that is :P

    Juddering p38 :(

I had something similar to this and it turned out to be air getting into the fuel system because I hadn't tightened the filter enough after service... It tended to stall as a consequence though so maybe not the same symptom? It was suggested to look at the fuel quantity servo, I'm sure more...

    Insurance issues Springs or Air

We used to have a modded disco 1 which which you did not take around roundabouts at speed, whereas my P38 never once felt unstable (boat like yes but not unstable :P ). I've always thought that converting a P38 to coils effectively changes it to a Disco, but aren't they perfectly capable on them...

Time to change or spend on my 2.5 P38

The DHSE is more than capable of what you're asking until, as has been said, the gearbox goes.. Personally I'd say keep it, and when the gearbox goes replace with the stronger version, a Datatek guide for which I'm sure will be out soon! - I'd expect that will be a lot cheaper than the...

    Oil leak....

The pipes have a habit of stripping their threads on the cooler, prompting the replacement of the cooler... I just sawed off the pipe past each compression joint and replaced the rubber bit with 5/8" oil line secured with jubilee clips. Worked perfectly for the rest of my ownership (a few months) :)

    Air to Spring Conversion

There we go see there is really no excuse for springs! :P I was just wondering about the risk of bursting a bag on something sharp in arduous conditions?

    Air to Spring Conversion

I wouldn't say that around here... it's not popular :P There are documented cases of people doing it and it working, but you really do want to try and keep the EAS working (which, provided it isn't ALL broken is usually cheaper to do than respring it). Personally I think if you spring it just...

Why do we love these cars?

Are they mechanically easier than Discos?

Why do we love these cars?

Why are they SO much more expensive than Disco 1's of similar condition?

    Help and advice needed

Nope he's just a petrol enthusiast :P The BMW engine has a strange torque curve - there's not much drive until 2.5k rpm. Also the throttle pedal has a very long travel so it can feel more sluggish than it actually is. So it may be that you're thinking it's slower than it is (a chipped diesel...

    Jaguar X Type

Because having had a P38 where the fitting of a bigger non original batter is a better idea I thought I'd check :) And because it's dark and I'm away from home :P

    Jaguar X Type

this is a good start :P Battery megastore suggests about 10 for the 2004 model - I'll go with the 10/10 one unless there's any specific tips :)

    Jaguar X Type

Sorry to do a thread resurrection but my dad needs a new battery for his 2.0 diesel x type - I wondered if anyone knew the one to go for? Cheers :)
