As soon as you unhitch it the back will bounce up and it will self level, either immediately or when the doors are closed, there should be no problems :) I towed a speedboat and never had an issue.

Well said :) Put in the maintenance and they're great cars! I gave up mine because I just didn't have the time to keep up the checks anymore, but it was definitely the best car I've ever had and I can't see myself feeling more fondly towards another! Personally I would go for the diesel...

Park would presumably just snap with that amount of force on it. If the torque converter wasn't locked when R was selected (assuming the ECU let it) would it be able to absorb enough to avoid ruining the box, or at least the gear?

Would it stop park or reverse engaging at speed too?
