Glad you mentioned an intercooler as I have been reading a lot of conflicting reports, is it worth doing for engine longevity as I'm more than happy with the power so just looking to preserve the engine

We have an ir thermometer at work so will have to try that, i suppose the thermostat housing would be the best place for a reading

The rad is in very good condition externally not rotten at all, there were a few flattened ones but spent an hour carefully straightening them. With engine running i can put a piece of paper anywhere on the front of the rad and it stays there, not exactly scientific but proves air is flowing

Not a clue of the money or time spent on mine as it was done long before i bought it, but it is fitted with an hours meter and is currently at 457 hours so seems to have had little use since then.
