    Anyone insured with Frank Pickles?

I've recently found out that frank pickles are no longer taking on new business for 4x4 insurance. I'm currently insured with them. They don't take no claims into account. i.e., they don't ask for your NCB when you insure and you don't accrue any with them. I was insured with sureterm direct but...

    Disco body lift done

Hi guys, did my 2" (well, 48mm) body lift today. All went well, apart from forgetting to slacken off the steering shaft . Only problem is now, when engaging reverse, the damper on the gearstick hits the centre console. I've got the gearstick extenders but this fits on the top of the stick...

Does anyone have any pics of how the flexi pipe connects to the airbox on the 300tdi disco? Does it connect at the front like the standard air feed does? Cheers

    300TDI Clutch problem...

I had the conversation not so long ago about HD clutches, I ended up buying a britpart one. I fitted a britpart one a year ago and it did it's job well, I do a fair bit of towing and offroading and it gets some stick, the only thing that killed it was when I had a noise coming from the engine...

    Central Locking Fault

Chances are, the window mech is catching the actuator or the rod and pushing it down. Or a wire has come unfastened and it's catching on that. As discool says, pop the door card off and have a peek. The problem should be relatively obvious when you do.

Is this a sign of trouble

Sorry, just realised you have a D2, not sure if the drain tubes run the same as the D1. I'd image they do though. They just finish inside the A pillar, a few inches from the bottom. Just to ensure that it rusts from the inside out.... Those clever LR boys!

Is this a sign of trouble

If you remove the trim panel in the footwell, you may be able to see a hole where it has rusted through into the A pillar. If this has happened, best thing is to do is, cut all of the bad metal out and weld a plate in. Then, this is what I did, drill a 13mm hole in the outside of the A pillar...

Only if the timing pins are in, otherwise theres nothing holding anything against anything.

Is this a sign of trouble

Hard to say from the pic, could be swivel leaking. With regards to the wet footwell, most probably the sunroof drains. They drain into the A pillars. So what normally happens is, the tiny drain hole in the bottom of the A pillar gets blocked, the A pillar fills with water and rusts through into...

    timing

Why did you loosen the injector pump pulley? There is no need to do this for a straight cam belt change. For the sake of £20 it's worth having a set of timing pins, especially if you're planning on keeping the disco a while or sticking to land rovers in general.
