I have read that you can't polish for a week but in desperation I did a bit where I feathered out the paint but stopped soon after realising I might aswel rub my arse over it for the good it did!

I will check the stat as WLM suggested along with the water pump (how I don't know!) then if there's nothing I can find then a recon of the rad might be in order. How do I go about checking the pump?
