do head light bulbs light up both main and diped when on main or diped I hade acase once where one head light filament han broken and was tuching other filament in bulb so one side had main beam and dip coming on together and other side had main only has your landy got relays for head lights...

when you switch side lights on are they lighting up both filiments at same time if you face land rover towords a wall you should be abel to see which is main beam and whitch is niped

I have got twin cylinder Michelin with machinacl pressure gauge not to bad for price but you have to tighten up rivets some times they should have used through bolts

is solenoid definatly all right you coud try taking valve out of solenoid re fit it and try what happens

hi I don't think this is your proplem but I had a case where one head lamp bulb had a broken filament which landed across other filament in bulb so one headlamp only worked on one filament other head lamp had both filament lit all time when switched on

did later ones have any extra controle boxes that early ones dident have never worged on later ones hgv /plant mainley

hi on looking at 1986 wiring diagram there are no in line dioads but weather later ones had them I don't know if you find wire with small bulge it could be in line dioad some times they can break down I haven't got later wiring diagram to check

battery light could be a altinater packing up have you tried getting a earth wire direct from battery then find none live side of panel instriments and connect to it what happens now

well done usualy they self blead but always exception to rule

seems like bad earth for dash gauges etc

mine was doing this one year after fitting new front hub oil seal took out seal on looking at sealing lip with magnifier the seal lip had become lots of minute raged dips seal was patern one stub axel was in perfect condition only did 2000 milessince fitting patern part seal
