Not sure about the TD5 but most problems with indicators stems from the relay or hazard switch not working correctly, but you could start by looking at the indicator switch...................

If the switch and relay work correctly - switching off your headlights should switch off the fog light and it should stay off even if you switch your headlights back on ;)
Do a quick google for "overland" fuel tanks and you will find suppliers that can sell you a very nicely made aux fuel tank to fit to your 90 - if thats a bit too hard on the pocket stick to jerry cans ;)
Yep as you say:
2 in speedo
1 in fuel gauge
1 in temp gauge
1 in clock (if fitted)
Fitted 12v capless led's in my dash and they make a BIG difference at night ;)
