Hi I did this about a year ago. The dash it's self goes in without a problem, fixes back OK. But the vent controls are different between the earlier and TD5 defenders which can causes a little bit of conflict when opening the vents fully. I fitted a Raptor dash so I had to cut the TD5 fascia...

sounds like the latch is on the way out, and the pressure generated from motorway speeds pops it open, that and the vibration and movement.

Doesn't age affect this also? Something about all newer Defenders being commercial vehicles, and commercials being cheap to tax, but restricted in speed, and other stuff.

Surely it depends what you want out of your vehicle? Off road ability, easy to mod? Comfort, quite, economy, luxury? Are you happy with the Disco? If it were me I wouldn't have a Disco in the first place, I think they are nice vehicles n all, but Defender is were I'm at. Course for Horses...
