    Td5 oil filter

I remember reading a thread way back when about some non LR filters having non return valves or summat in them and you could tell the difference by the noise on startup. Of course, I now couldn't find the thread if my life depended on it. Anyone know which filters are good 'uns before I take out...

    I'm over my embarrassment

Interesting thread, this. I had a very minor slide similar to Peter, no drama, no damage. But... On the way down in low box with hill descent selected and the ABS hammering away all went quiet and we slid into the wall. Doesn't the Td5 have potentiometers and accelerometers as part of the ABS...

    Td5 Aircon fan

Any one know the part number for the small aircon fan that sits in front of the radiator? Mine is seized and every time I fit a new 40a fuse it blows. And before anyone says it I have searched extensively :p Have tried Rimmer Bros, LR Series, Paddocks / Craddocks etc. Not at home at the mo so...

    egr blanking

Overall I reckon a couple of mpg extra, I expect this to improve once I get round to cleaning out my I/C and inlet manifold. I was gutted when I saw the amount of ****e in the egr. Although I will be soaking it in paraffin and sticking it on ebay though :D

    egr blanking

The kit I used had rubber blanks for the egr control block, although I imagine small screws / silicone etc would do the job...I haven't experienced any problems at all, much improved on acceleration, overrun and economy. (Td5)

    Rear prop coupling.

Stick it in a vice with a suitably sized socket lined up on the bush and squeeze gently. Oooh matron.

how do you fold away the rear seats?

If it's 02 onwards there's a little "how to" guide stuck on your rear door mate.

The New Freelander 2 -"Prep & Delivery".

Don't know if anyone's ever asked this before, but why don't gaylander owners just buy an SJ410 or a Jimny? It's clearly what they really aspire to...

    Bizarre noise!

To be more precise than I have been (which won't take much doing) as the trailing (2nd) front wheel drops off the bump / kerb there is a loud "twanging" noise from the front of the vehicle which can be felt through whichever pedal my feet happen to be on at the time. Will post my findings as...

    Bizarre noise!

No idea, what would be up with it to make the noise it does? It is quite loud...

    Bizarre noise!

I think this must be steering damper-related but welcome any thoughts / advice... 52 plate Disco Td5... When driving off a bump / kerb it makes a noise EXACTLY like when you twanged a ruler on a desk at school. Is the damper knackered or is it normal? Was dead funny at first and the kids...

    car trailer

Question for Landowner, who do you use for repairs? I'm happy with my guy but he's always chocka and if it's short notice he usually squeezes me in but there's a first time for everything...

    TD5 Vibration/Shudder

I totally agree with the wheel balancing. My tyres were on the way out and I had a really bad vibration at 70+, had the doughnut done, bit better but not much, bit of a placebo effect, i think. Anyway, new tyres and rebalanced and absolutely bob on. Almost spent a fortune fannying about with...
