Sorry for hijacking, I've got a squealing noise, but when I take aircon OUT of ECON it stops.....only seems to be noisy when i go through fords / deep puddles or when raining / damp. Just the belt then? Any ideas? Cheers.

check the o rings on the top of the pump itself, where they enter past the coloured tabs. just to be sure.

Only other things i can think of are either fuel pressure regulator or small o rings on the lines back into the pump. The landy indy i got my parts from told me to check them. Apparently they can be pushed out of alignment when disconnecting / connecting. Is the pump still noisy and...

Make sure you have got the sealing ring on the fuel pump spot on or use a new one, the bloke at the landrover indy i got my parts from said summat to do with pressurised system. I reused mine and all ok. One thing mine did before having orings and washer done ws when trying to start it I went...

Had a funny turn, noisy pump and an arse to start, looked on here, say Cherles Y's post re dirty pump, cleaned pump, fine for two months. Started again, cleaned pump (missus had let it run low on fuel) no joy, deaed noisy pump, cut out after 2-3 miles, arsey to start and the 3rd time it cut out...

Exactly, everyone i spoke to said "fuel pump", had previously had it out, dismantled and cleaned it, so decided to try washers and o rings first cos cheaper, sorted. £8.56 for parts!

Taking a wild stab in the dark, how far did you travel before breaking down? I ask because mine used to get 2-3 miles then conk out. That was before i did the injector washers. I know you have done them but could still be getting air into system...unlikely to be fuel pipe 'cos you'd notice it...
