    ideas on red hot engine!!!

    does sound like an air lock and they can be a real arse to bleed out. the reason possibly for it feeling rough going up and down the box is cause the oil cooler for the gear box run through the radiator

    have you tryed the air flow meter? if these go down it wont be picked up on any fault code reader. try and disconnect it and then try it. if it is telling the ecu that it is getting to much or to little air it will cause all sorts of problems.

    hi matt if its mis firing that will make it back fire (un burnt fuel in exhaust) but it sounds like a valve burning out you will have to check thre commpressions which will ignite un burnt fuels in exhaust hope this helps
