    1.8 freelander wont start, getting fuel to fuel rail and if i disconect fuel reset switch it will run but only on tickover.If i then reconnect fuel reset it will tick over but cut out if throttle is opened. one landy so called specialist said he was beat, but said try a fuel relay. is this not...

    poss coil?

    pump buzzin when ignition switched on, spark at plugs( if you pull plug lead off coil sparks to earh from end of lead). when cranking ( trying too fire but doesnt) it eventually does but runs rough and cuts out after a min on tickover

    yet again another prob. was running but began lossing power on banks n hills. when on return journey it lost power and if throttled it i cuts out and wont restart( but ties too) any ideas? its had temp sensor, cam sensor and rota arm n dist cap in last month

    yes you can. you carnt spray cellulose on synthetic as you get a reaction.

    mine was a pig to start when cold, had ecu read and it turned out to be faulty temp sensor( front right of head). but it would run all day when warm.also had prob wi dodgy rota arm.aa told mrs head gasket gone and it was rota arm

    sons mate side swiped by a idiot today speeding on a19 it clipped young lads car and it flipped, unfortunatly the drivers 3 month old baby died instantly. the passengers in front had to be cut free. so if cams were fitted on a19 perhaps the idiot would have been more cautious.

    think i will get cam cocking tool, and recheck positions of pully. then if ok do a compression test. and work from that. but given it didnt use water or overheat and i had previously had a fault wi dodgy temp sensor its beginning to be a pain

    yeh it does include heater element. fabrication isnt a prob as i can do it , but brother in law can get stainless sheet metal and roll n bend it for me. the big but is trying to get used oil, as looked at new oil but its gettin a bit pricey

    As said look for obvious first . if you suspect earth. run jump lead from bat earth to engine block n try indicators then wi eng running
