Iv done that ! Put the hose to the 'exit' to see if I could flush it through but nowt came out. There was just a pressure build up that saw me get soaked when the hosepipe spat back out!!!!

Righty, a continuation of the disco heater issues. Engine, gets hot, radiator top hose hot Feed to heater matrix from top hose.......COLD! well, tepid Heaters in car, luke warm if that. Matrix exit pipe, COLD. Tried sticking hose on the exit pipe to 'backflush' the system but...

Interesting, thanks all this far. Well, the fans still off, and last night I removed the stat and should fit a new one today. When cold there was no sign the stats letting water through although thats not to say its not opening early.... Water pump,,,,, hhmmmmm, thats got me thinking.
