Is there such a thing as a 'slightly' raised air intake?!

All valid ideas, thanks everyone. I had thought of cutting down a standard steel pipe but i wanted to see if there were any alternatives first. Cheers!

Is there such a thing as a 'slightly' raised air intake?!

I thought so too Laracroft. Thanks for the ideas Tacr2man and Warrior - comment on oils duly noted too. I guess I really ought to put wading plugs in each time as well but we all know how practical that is...

Is there such a thing as a 'slightly' raised air intake?!

Will check the height but it tends to be just below the top of the wheel arch in winter, so not far from the bottom of the side intake... I wondered if there was something useful for the wing-top that would just raise the intake above the bonnet by a couple of inches without doing the whole 9 yards

Is there such a thing as a 'slightly' raised air intake?!

Aye that could work! I'm no welder sadly but that could well be an option. Surprised there isn't a wing top alternative off the shelf bit I guess it's just me!

Is there such a thing as a 'slightly' raised air intake?!

A couple of times a month I need to cross a ford a couple of times (out and back). At this time of the year it only reaches about 60-70% up the wheel, so no biggy, but at the back end of the year it can comfortably cover the tyre. My old (stolen) ex Mod V8 had a raised intake / wading kit and...

EGR removal kits - any difference?

Now that is cheap! I think I can go a little further though and tidy it up whilst I'm at it.

EGR removal kits - any difference?

Worth knowing, thanks James. I'm guessing a bolt with a small jubilee clip would do the same job if needed?

EGR removal kits - any difference?

Morning all I was just perusing a well known online auction site for EGR removal kits, and the range of prices was quite amazing! Is there any difference between the £10 kits and the £125 kits (assuming they contain the same basic parts, ie new hose, blank plate, gasket, clips, screws)...

    Ditching the light surrounds

Thought I recognised the grille (just ordered a silver one!), I hadn't spotted the surrounds though! Vey tidy!

    Ditching the light surrounds

Lovely stuff, thanks Elan23 and Litch - that's exactly what I'm after! They work nicely with your grille too Litch, good work.

    Ditching the light surrounds

I agree - I like the idea of the series / Stage 1 bezels too Richard, although I can't see any anywhere!

    Ditching the light surrounds

And I love the Airforce Yellow Sp00k... seriously considered going that way but couldn't bring myself to 'fake' it!

    Ditching the light surrounds

Having only had militaries before I've never had them so tend to find them a bit... plasticy... but now faced with a respray I'm not sure whether to try and colour match them or just ditch them as I don't really want yards of black plastic on the front of my nice Welsh Grey / White 110. (I like...

    Ditching the light surrounds

Has anybody just ditched the plastic headlight surrounds - and if so does it look ok or are there loads of odd holes? My Military never had them, and that looked fine, but then it was a little less refined all round... Currently considering either trying to match them to the body colour or...

    Breather kit /Snorkel

As Marmaduke says - axle / transmission / pump breathers are far more important than the showy bit on top. I took the raised intake off my last Landy as it just got in the way (and let's face it, few of us actually wade to bonnet depth and over!) but the breather pipes continued to do valiant...

Stolen from Pangbourne Station car park Berkshire

Welcome to the area Farmeshort, you're just the other side of the Four Points from me in Ashampstead! Sadly it never showed up on ANPR, presumably as it left with different plates on, and neither the exit CCTV or the main mast camera were recording anything more useful than the clouds...

Stolen from Pangbourne Station car park Berkshire

I'm really sorry I didn't get here quick enough for you Nigel, obviously coming to this forum should have been my first thought. You're absolutely right - not registering it on this, the world's only Land Rover website, absolutely suggests I didn't care about losing my vehicle and only means of...

    Lock upgrades

I think X-Eng will be taking a lump of my pocket money too - I like the idea of a pedal lock that's always in place and the column casing. I could never be bothered with my clutch claw as it was such an arse to fit and I always parked under a cctv camera at the station... which we now know...

    Lock upgrades

I have to admit a tracker and a decent immobiliser are at the top of the list – as are pedal lock, gear lock... and hopefully good old fashioned door locks... All expensive and not nearly as much fun as the toys I'd usually have been considering, but ultimately better than losing another...

    How to reduce landy thefts

Does anybody know if there is a correlation between colours and thefts? Does a Dayglo landy draw the wrong sort of attention for example, or does it make it less likely that someone will try and drive it down the high street? Does an unusual landy scream 'TOY! STEAL ME!' or is it far too obvious...
