the rear lights and rear brake lights are using a double element bulb, can this be changed to move the one or the other onto the higher lamp clusters as i want to fit LED bulbs or am i stuck with it?

if only drums were see through so you could see whats going on. so can the cable be replaced without removing shoes?

had the hippo about 4 months, bit of a bastard really cos if it is the cable, i have to remove brake shoes and they have only just been done and i cant do brake shoes (i could if i tried but im stubbon lol) according to haynes manual the shoes have to be removed, or do they?

true, but if they dont get as bad as what they are now (and thats bad) then should be ok and ill be happy, all i gotta do is run my finger around the rim of one of the hoses and its coated with fresh wet black oil. hope fully the new breather will ease this atleast

yep done the whole 30 times trick, if one side is adjusting than surely i got a fault handbrake cable

new shoes and spring and pins fitted, handbrake still rubbish (about 8 clicks) adjusted handbrake (now about 3-4 clicks) but thats only locking one wheel

just got new shoes, rear braking is fine, the handbrake was rubbish before i even had the shoes done, so then when it got new shoes handbrake was still rubbish, i adjusted it following the haynes (very easy) handbrake is much stiffer and only takes 4-5 clicks but only because one wheel is locked...

looking at the picture below, arrowed in green you can see the handbrake cable adjust thingy is all squiff. adjusted the handbrake a few days ago and the rear drivers side wheel wont lock while the passenger side does. is this is faulty handbrake cable?

got the BMW part fitted today, wether its just me and its a psychilogical thing but i think the hippo drives a with a bit more freedom and response. i service all my cars myself including my TD4, its done 147000 miles and ive done 2000 miles of it since i bought it, its last proper service...

no just normal pipe work and dishwasher tablets, so yeh will be putting all the oil infested pipes and manifold in there and will order a new crankcase breather which will help, not sure wether to go for the bmw part though
