for the sake of a few quid i'm going to replace the top pin and bearing and pack the ball with one shot grease and hope that cures the problem.

I had a look at doing this when i had my PofW MPi. It's doable, but unless the bodywork is really exceptional I wouldn't bother.

i had to lift the front of my last 4x4 to counteract the weight of the bars lol. Don't think i'll bother with this one. Sounds to me "L reg Disco" means it's a 1 unless its a private plate.

I don't suppose anyone knows what security system would be fitted to a 93 Disco. I have a black and grey single button fob with a 5mm plug in jack plug for an immobiliser. The system appears to be Foxguard. My insurance company won't insure me against theft until i tell them what it is.

It gets worse, almost thinking of going back to vauxhall! Having had the clutch fail we replaced the clutch, having problems getting into first and reverse we also found the slave cylinder was fubar'd. I have a replacement cylinder but now have lost reverse. My truck is the 2.0MPi version...

Ta, we couldn't see where it'd come from and as it didn't have clutch crud on it, the likelyhood of it being from my car is remote..... although i now have one if anyone wants to buy it :D
