Cool. Ok. So it's a case of swapping what's on my 1.4 box over to the discovery 1.2 box.( speedo bits I mean) lol.

Can anyone help. I have noticed that between the handbrake drum.( big round black bit) and the casting of the transfer box is a modern sort of black female plug. I'm guessing this could be electronic speedo?? Seams to be near where the cable type speedo would bolt in. Am I right with this...

Little update been cleaning up the transfer box and fitting new bearings etc and seals today. Had a complete nightmare getting the old 1.4 ration box out due to rounded off bolts and access issues but with help from my brother got there in the end.

Will get some of these I think. They look like they work well. Thanks.

They were sold to me as dash lights but I can see what your saying. I noticed the holder was hot even after 5 mins. So anyone else got a different type?..I don't want to melt the holders. Lol

Cool ok So the part above could be fine. It just seamed the only part when the box was all together that had the play in it. Over quarter of a turn before the rear one would turn. But as it took up the slack it made a large clunk. Will have another look and the other gears I think. Cheers

Ok what's wrong....... Lol. Fitted some LED style lights in my interior light today which was easy and looked great. But....... Left the workshop in the dark and the LED light were glowing then went out then glowed again etc etc all the way up the road. The lights work as they should do but...

Well I'm one for saving money if I can so Made myself some 2 inch lift blocks. And got myself a set of -2" rear shock mounts also. Already have fitted longer brake lines etc so fitting Saturday fingers crossed. So in total should be a 4 inch lift if you include the shocks and springs already...

Blimey this sounds like it could get complicated. I was hoping just to stick them in. Right need to look for shocks. Thanks for your help.

:) I spec not. Lol. I assume they are all not legal on any landrover unless just used off road? Seen lots of defenders with them.

Hi all been really busy in the months running up to xmas not much done to the defender. Fitted some tree defectors and got myself a new reg!!! Toy lander coming on slowly. And I got myself a sankey. New project for the new year. Got to be doing soming will only get board. Lol.

Been realy busy lately but have managed to get truck MOT and tax and fully insured now. All lights working and installed some recovery flashers just for the hell of it. Lol Off to the carpenter to get wood work sorted in the back on Saturday. If I was installing insulation in the back...
