A Land Roving friend who has just disapeared to Falkland Islands told me he fitted a DIY snorkel to his 300Tdi diesal using pipes and tubes bought from a DIY shop. Can anybody post a step by step instruction plan for this as there must be people on here who have done this too?

500 mile round trip? I get about 430 miles out of one tank full so I'd need twice as much Reddex! :p

With fuel economy yes, performance wise is much harder to guage. I think the only way to guess at that is how much longer I think the engine/fuel system will last with the correct servicing and fuel cleaning than without. As I said that is much harder to work out! :o

I've been using it for months with each fill of my '94 300Tdi and have no complaints. Unfortunatly because I'm not able to do drive at 60 for much more than 5 miles at a time I'm only getting about 25 miles per tank extra but new job should mean much more uninterupted driving.

I generally get about 450 miles out of my 300Tdi tank. Fortunatly most of my driving does include a fair amount of time at 60 but I have to slow, stop and start quite often through towns and villages in the area.

re this, I took garage to a local independant Land Rover garage and asked them to fix the problems so my Landie would pass MoT second time of asking. They replaced the relevant ABS sensor (along with other things on MoT list) and with a blank dashboard I took Disco to retest which it promptly...
