Help I'm tempted to leave Disco Ownership

Don't forget defenders hold their money very well, so if you did get one and found you didn't get on with it you could sell it and not lose much on it.

New to this, want to buy a landy, help needed!

£8k will get you a really good one , especially if it's a hardtop. An sw should still be good though especially at this time of year when a defender is at it's cheapest.

    td5 or 300?

It depends what you want. the td5 is a much better engine to drive with. It's smoother, it sounds better , it's got more grunt and it's very tuneable. The 300 is simpler and therefore easier to work on and has less to go wrong. It's also slightly more reliable but getting old now. I've had...

New suspension setup... I'm pulling my bloomin hair out!

If your worried about ride comfort when unladen, look at progressive springs, they are only a few quid more and you get the best if both worlds. I would stick with standard height unless the tyres rub or you need better approach and departure angles etc.

Hello! from an Isle of Wight member

Hello mate, I've just been to the Isle of Wight for a few days and there seemed loads of defenders on the island. More than here in Essex. So I suspect there will be a few owners from the island on here.
