New to this, want to buy a landy, help needed!

Im new to this and really have my heart set on buying a defender 90. I currently drive a 05 Nissan Pathfinder and am looking to sell this to get a defender. I dont know a great deal about defenders, but want one mainly to get me to work in the winter (work in the peak district). Iv spent a load of money on my pathfinder since i brought it and want something cheaper to repair with less to go wrong! Dont want to spend much more than £8000 and ideally would like a bargain as im saving for a house. Any help or advice on where and what to look for would be great.

Hi and welcome. As for reliability and cost stick with the Japanese products. You will however become attached to a defender and in a sick sort of way start to enjoy keeping it going.

£8k will get you a really good one , especially if it's a hardtop. An sw should still be good though especially at this time of year when a defender is at it's cheapest.
