    Snorkel, stupid question!

Hi, I started with the method described below but the plastic parts on mine (TD5 also) fitted together so badly that I doubted that I'd ever get it to seal. As stock I would get water marks in the air box, I guessed rain making its way in. Ended up scrapping the stock tupperware and fitting...

    TD5 110 Suspension questions.

I have just replaced my tired but standard LR springs with Britpart standard springs. I also fitted Terrafirma big bore expedition dampers. It has transformed what was a very wayward ride to one that is now quite composed even when the roof rack is loaded with boards and kayaks. My missus finds...

TD5 making the clutch lighter for next to nothing

I like the left leg workout aspect as well, my left leg is easily twice the size of my right one. I do have lots of trouble walking any where now though, unless its round and round.....:p

    Bonnet release cable

On my 2003 TD5 it's just a case of removing the 4 bolts under the edges of the slam panel and then the panel itself, easy job....;) Mike.

    Cat removal

I replaced my cat (2003 td5) with a straight through pipe after the cat became blocked with soot. The result to my ears was too loud and very intrusive when driving oround town. I cut the cat open and removed its guts and TIG ed it back up, Much better now and has a lovely turbo whistle which I...

    Is this normal?

I have to confess that I really do enjoy reading a good "my engine/gearbox/diff/etc" just exploded thread.:bowl: Is it just me with the morbid fascination? Commiserations to all those suffering......I've had my share:D

    AAARRRRGGGGGHHHHH Just start!!

It's possible to do the injector seals without the proper tool, done mine...but the sympoms don't sound like leaking seals. Lots of smoke and running on a bit was what mine was doing when the the copper seals were letting by. Mike.

    Raised air intake install.

Cheers all, That is a good point on the bellhousing breather that I had not considered. I'll look at getting the axles and gearbox breathers sorted and report back.

    Raised air intake install.

Thanks for all the replies guys. Still not sure which way to go on the breathers, my Nanocom tells me that I get a small drop in pressure (30mB) in the air box when at full chat now that the snorkel is fitted and I'm wondering if this will result in an oily mess in the air box. Was also...

    Raised air intake install.

Got a Mantec snorkle for Christmas for my TD5 110. I didn't like the look of the standard ducting in the engine bay so I have replaced it with a single length of 80mm id heavy plastic flexi. Should I be thinking out refitting the restrictive leaky dump valve? What have the snorkle owning...

Mines done 95K and still has the original UJs front and rear. They get a good greasing with moly every year when I do the service. Cheers Mike.

    Warp warp warp speed.

Hi, Best guess was LHS and a quick test drive revealed I had guessed wrong. Replaced the other and all is quiet. The price of the Britpart kit from Paddocks was too good to resist, I'll see how long they last. Took the old ones apart and there is a very small worn groove in the bearing...

    Warp warp warp speed.

Well, noticed that the TC light was coming on when in Front WD and warp warp warp noise. Rear prop on and front prop off and all is quiet and no TC lights. I believe the TC detects speed from the CVs at the front, so I will be looking at replacing CVs. Best to change both or best guess? I can...

    Warp warp warp speed.

Thanks James, I'll get some proper work done on Thursday and post what I find. The props have been regularly greased, think I'll leave the rear UJs alone. Mike,

    Warp warp warp speed.

Cheers James, Rear prop on and front off on Thursday, got work tomorrow.:( Ill let you know how I get on. Do like the price on those Paddock CVs and comes as a kit-which is good for me. I did have a good look at the rear prop and I can feel no play in it with a hand wiggle...
