whilst wellying it water comes out the heater matrix hose but not whilst idling. whist idling it comes out the bleed screw though. and ****es everywhere whilst reving high

yea i got mine for £25. Iv had the landy about 2 months. never had heating. done 3000 miles aswell. I like to think it hasnt been over heating because im sure it would have given in by now.

yea. it looks like the large hose has been cut short and stretched. im thinking it had a split or something... the end that goes into the block on the left is jagged and badly cut.

nope. thereis water flowing through the large hose but not the small one off the T junction

Hi again. I have checked my water pump and all is good. but today have found a leak. Please take a look at the below image and tell me what you think. I found a leak at the bleed valve (2) and the hose (1) is collapsed slightly. Im thinking that as its collapsed and leaking there then maybe...

Have same problem. Loosing about 1 expansion tank every 400 miles or every week or so. :(

I have the same problem. But never gets hot. Flushed the whole system. When I put an airline in a pipe and blew it through I got hot air but soon went cold :(

I'd agree. From owning a early defender to a td5 the difference in the maintenance required is huge! just be prepared.

hi again. Bought a defender a few weeks ago and noticed the reversing light wasnt working and iv only just got round to looking into it. I checked the bulb and no problem. then lifted the centre seat to check the switch and seen this... Is this for the switch or something else. Its a loom...

What ya could do is replace the bolts with pip pins. It wouldn't be very safe so you would probably have to secure it with a chain to put off those theiving bastards. But that would make it a 5 second job to remove... Any o these would work... http://www.prifast.co.uk/
