    Trailer Test Experiences

It stays on your licence as long as your licence is active, you don't have to renew it. You will do the test at the local goods vehicle testing station where they do the tests for the articulated lorries, the test is with an HGV examiner also so they are stricter than your normal car examiner.

Anyone got terrafirma big bore shocks?

That could work, they started rusting after only 6 months and now after 2 years have no paint left at all (that's the shocks and springs). I have no problems with the performance though, hardly any body roll on road and they work well off road also.

I have those exact shocks, they did not come with dust covers. A word of warning however - in less than a year they will be all rusted and will look terrible - the same with the springs in that set. The coating quality is terrible.

Carefully stacked bricks in the back of the 110 van stacked up to about 9 inches above the bulkhead right the way to the back door plus on the passenger seat / footwell. Had to replace the wheel bearings shortly after :o

    Paint job, DVLA, insurance blah!

It is a complex mix of factors but you are right, your alloy wheels may affect your premium because: Alloy wheels will increase the value of the vehicle meaning a higher payout in a total loss situation, also in smaller claims you are much more likely to damage 22" rims with rubber-band tyres...
