    fuel burner

Bugger, I wondered why I couldn't find them in the Haynes :o Turbo pipework check, intercooler check, turbo check, I just assumed that Haynes had done the usual thorough job :o There is a theory that the Freelander has a later (stronger) bottom end, so will take more abuse than the R75 / ZT...

    back door and bike rack

Was there much work required to modify it? A quick search on eBay shows a couple of simbar carriers, the one for the Freelander is currently running a few quid more then the Discovery one, and with more time to go... If it's a simple mod I might take a punt, the Missus is peed off about the...

    back door and bike rack

If the door does fall off, keep it to yourself OK? ;) :D Out of interest, what bike rack are you using? The wife bought one that hangs on the spare wheel (£5 off eBay) only to find out that half the bike now hangs over the footpath trying to kill pedestrians :D

    fuel burner

You want it ti work in winter, it heats the engine up quickly to get it to the most economic working temperature. Get someone else to rev the engine to around 2,500 rpm, then try and squash the turbo hoses, the theory is that they should be solid at those revs, if they are squishy they you're...

    Running problems already...please help.

Search for "leak back test", on here and on any of the Rover owner's forums, there is a simple way to check your injectors to see if one is failing, and which one (it's unusual for all to go at once), you can then just swap one injector and get your vehicle back working again for less money :)

    fuel burner

The FBH has a few known faults, usually resistors on the main board, a cheap fix if you google "French Mike" ;) It only uses around 0.1 litres an hour, or every 30 minutes, so that's not your fuel consumption problem. Bad fuel economy is more likely due to problems like the EGR being bunged...

    Hill descent control

This thread might be of use to you. If not run a search in the Freelander section, if you are still non the wiser ask in their and someone with more knowledge then I will help you out :)

You could always buy a small digital clock and some sticky back velcro ;)

    Sorry....another clock thread

OK, I took a look at the wiring diagram in the Haynes manual and it's chuff all help :( The diagram does not show any difference between the remote display for the radio tuning and the one for the clock :( If it was me trying to solve it I'd use some small crocodile clips and take the...

    Sorry....another clock thread

If there is no power supply to the clock then it will stop it working, so, yup, the new radio connector might be the problem. What spec, what engine and what year is the thing? I'll take a look at the wiring diagram tomorrow if I get chance, if you can't wait until then find the RAVE...

Freelander TD4 Auto ES X Reg

Reddit :) I was feeling generous and also bored so thought I'd explain what FBH meant and give the OP a tiny little pointer :) I can't help meself, it's Friday night and the first 2/3 of the wine bottle has evaporated :D

Freelander TD4 Auto ES X Reg

OK :D The smoke is possibly a very nice gadget called a "fuel burning heater", it burns small amounts of diesle to heat the engine coolant up a bit quicker and will kick in on cold days. They are prone to the odd fault, run a search on this forum for "FBH" or "fuel burning heater" to find...

Freelander leaking diesel and smoking from front n/s wing

Could be a bad temp sensor, or it could be a fecked main board in the FBH. From what I know of the R75 temp sensors they generally fail as an open switch, so the FB never comes on, I assume that the switch on the FL is the same type. You can test it with freeze spray. If the FBH is...

    Sorry....another clock thread

OK, I'm confused... What is the actual problem you are trying to resolve? I understand you do not have the standard radio head unit fitted any more, and that the standard connector is not plugged into anything. Other than that, I'm at a loss.

    2 Wheel drive

Sort of been donne to death on here, and quite recently, someone even posted fuel figures before and after removing the rear propshaft (that or I've had one hell of a wierd dream), they improvement wasn't great but it was there.

VCU bearings? How are the tyres? Any sign of them 'feathering' on the ede of the tread blocks?

    Freelander 1 Transit mode

Hello and welcome to the LZ :) Pop over to the introduce yourself bit and do just that, then take a look in the Freelander specific forum, search is useful and might provide an answer to your problem. Folk on here can get testy if you don't do the introduction bit, they will then get even...

    heya all!!

Keep searching the freelander section, you'll soon find out why there is some concern about the potentially missing prop sha*ft, you will also find out a lot about the head gasket problems with the 1.8 K series Rover engine. Best of luck with it, from your posts you know which end of a...

    Erratic Starting

This is on the MGZT - 75 site, but it's the same engine, same technique should work :) If you want to test the cam sensor, buy a tin of freeze spray, get the engine hot so it wont start, spray the sensor and try to start it, if it goes then you have a dodgy cam sensor :) They are very easy...
