only reason a 300 has over heating problems is because people dont refill the engine coolant properly hence the plug ontop of the thermostat housing so u can get all the air out of the system because the head sits slightly higher than the top of the rad

problem with it is it runs perfectly fine but for no reason it stops reving up engine light flashes if you stop it and start it up again it normally runs fine again its going to garage saturday hopefully he will get it all going nand programed up cheers

make sure where your pipe go into the master and slave that they are tight and not letting in air. also checkl your gearbox oil level

try and move the striker towards the outside of the landrover towards you as you stand infront of it and look at it seems like uve moved it back so the door shuts completely and the strikers too far back to latch

300tdi in as people had said shaft on gearbox was smaller so eventually i decided to chuck the r380 gearbox and transfer box into it as i had the gearbox sat there only really problem i had was getting 300tdi engine in and lining everything up eventually took engine mounts off bolted engine...

ive just put 1 in mine 2day and wat i was told workled ok take your engine mounts off put the engine in and bolt to gearbox then lift engine up and you do just have enough rooom to get the mounts back on its a bit off a faff but i tried getting engine in with them on and couldnt line everything up

swapping a v8 to a 300tdi any 1 ever done it is it just as simple as sorting the wiring engine mounts changing the bell housing nd fuel lines? and exhaust?
