    Dash light illumination

As requested, a follow up to a previous post, I can tell you that the blue LED bulbs I bought to brighten the dash gauges do work; say, 70% better. I can now see the info on the dial from a nice blue background. However, if you imagine the dial as a clock face, it shines most brightly at 10-11...

    Balls!!!!!!!

I have a steering wheel ball fitted to my four spoke small steering wheel. I prefer to use that when offroading. I know its not everyones cup of tea, but to those of you who do use them, what are the best makes/types? The one I use constantly chews into the padding of my steering wheel and is...

salvage yard for 4 X 4 in Norfolk

Hi RUDD, `Happy New Year`. I live in Norwich too. I`m told there is one on the Norwich to Poringland Road. Go out on that road, keep going til you go down a dip which has a pub on the right. Its just past there on the right side with Landy and other scrap parts apparently. Never been there...

    Intercooler needs fan?

WOW! Couple of points. Chur...thanks for the civilised, balanced response to my query. Something and somewhere new members of this `community` forum, may hope to seek knowledge, advice, experience and camaraderie from those who have it. I`m only sorry you got dragged into an unsavoury `healthy...

    Intercooler needs fan?

Right, I tried to get this answered in another associated thread but it got lost, so here goes again. I will, after weighing up the pros and cons on the forum, be imminently removing the viscous fan. Before I do, I`d like to know if the very large intercooler fitted by the previous owner, will...

    fan or no fan

How would removing the fan on 300tdi effect an uprated, larger intercooler, if at all?

Heated door mirrors on a fender?

I`ve actually got a wire running from the dash area, passed the door rubber and into the passenger side mirror! Is this a heated mirror? Was it an optional extra from new? Mind you, it doesn`t work, or I cant find the switch  Anyone else got one heated mirror?

    Leccy fan replacement

The 90 has got an oversize intercooler on it. Does that effect any decision making I have to do? Wouldn`t want to lose power :D

    She`s a bit moist!!

Even before the snow came I noticed the old girl showing drops of water on the ceiling of the rear roof, (no lining). Is this just condensation, and do you all suffer from it? Or have I got a leak in the roof seam? It has been sealed with gunk before now, I noticed.

    Leccy fan replacement

Theres been some good dialogue recently about viscous fans. My question is; If I remove mine and replace it with an electric Kenlowe for instance, with on/off manual switch or thermostatically wired in, what is the optimum size to fit? Would 12" be too small, go for 14" or a 16" ? For the...

    Pros and cons?

Re: 94` Def 90. What are the advantages and disadvantages of changing from 15" tyres to 16", exactly? I see some opt for very tall tyres too, again what is to be gained and what do these changes compromise on? I need to change my too narrow (7") alloy wheels to 8" or 10" steels to fit...

    Special tool?

Obviously I`ve found the torx55 requirement. As a matter of interest, are there any more odd/unusual tools required on a `94 Defender 300tdi? Only found the usual nuts, bolts, screws, etc. so far in the few jobs I`ve done.
